Anigrand Star Destroyer build one for FuseNova and one for glen3631

Sorry for the lack of any updates.
However, there is progress!
FuseNova's kit should be finished by the end of the week.

More will be posted later this week.

I have this kit but dare not tackle it...you wouldn't be able to take out of country commissions will you? Pm appreciated.

Awesome! Looks like all the lighting is finished!

Yes, all lights are finished. I will not post the finished kit with the lights lit. That will be up to you once you have the finished kit in your hands.

(It does look awesome when all the lights are on!) ...tease...

Stealth Star Destroyer?

As you can see from the closeup... Painting has started!

I am currently watching black paint dry :confused

The bottom of the ship now has the main color applied.
There is just a fantastic thing that happens when this is done.
The top of the ship will be done later today.
Then the pannels... and that is when the magic really starts to happen.

Amazing work, I've followed your last two threads.
:thumbsup
How many LEDs do you end up using in one of these kits?

crikerat,
Thanks for following the theads and for the thumbs up :thumbsup

I can't remember but I think this kit has 43 leds. I may go with a few more on glen3631's kit.

...If memory serves me correctly...
16 - for the trench spotlights
7- for the engines
4 - in the hanger bay
16 - to light the fibers

The main color of the ship is finished.

Again, I sit and watch paint dry.

Sorry for the bad lighting. The aquariums (two 40g breader tanks (one reef and one is a frag tank)) are now setup in my office and the led lights that light them are spilling onto the model.

I hope to do the weathering and do some pannels tomorrow.

Note that the deflector sheilds are not attached so as to not break them.

Almost there....

I've yet to work with fiber. How will you cut off the ends without damaging the paint work? Is there a shortcut?

The finish line is just around the corner!

A few new sharp blades will do the trick. No shortcut, but they are thin and cut easily. It does not take long to do but one must be carefull so to not have that oops and mess up the paint.

Fusenova's kit is finished.
We have snow already so I can not take it outside to get good lit photos.
Attached are two photos of it. One with flash and one with out.
The third photo is the container that has the deflector sheilds, Tantive IV, and Shuttle.

Fusenova will hopefully take some better photos and also some with the led lights on.

I am getting ready to meet with him today and deliver this so hopefully those photos will come soon.

Here are a few update photos for glen3631.

I have one more deflector sheild to glue photo etch to and that will be done just after I post this update.

A lot of fiber optics have been run and a lot more to do. I am hopefull that I will have most if not all fibers run by the end of the week if not sooner.

Once that is finished the kit will start to go together a lot faster.

Until next update...

OK! here is the long awaited update.

First photo is me trying to wire up those tiny 1mm led bulbs for the trench spotlights. The wifes lighter (part of her makeup bag) is to help me with the shrink tube as I do not have a heat gun.

Second photo is all of those spotlights installed on the upper hull and hooked up to a 9v to make sure all is working as planned.

The third photo are light boxes to hold the led bulbs in place for the hanger bay.

The next photo is some inner detail I made (not screen accurate) to put in the trash area.

The photo after that is of the main engine being prepped. All three are fully built and ready to be installed.

The bottom hull nose is currently being run with fibers. I am very hopefull that all fibers will be done in the next few days. Wednesday I hope to wire it all together.

As long as the weather stays nice, paint will begin next weekend.

The last photo is of my desk as it satnds tonight. I moved my desk light up higher and have a hook to hold the dremmel. I would like to add a second light to the other side of my desk.

Running these fibers at night has been hell. Is is so much easier when there is a lot of light.

Oh, and yes... I am listening to the soundtrack of Empire Strikes Back as I am working on the kit tonight.

I really want to finish this up. As you all know, I have some kits in my collection that are screaming to be finished and some to be started.

Until the next update...
