    Hi Everyone.

I wanted to show off a paint-up I did a few months back for a friend on his C-3PO torso kit... he wanted to plate it but never got around to it so I painted it for him to look like 3PO did on Tatooine in ANH :) I used about three different metallic colors by slowly working them to look as if he was getting nice and weathered... then I went in and hand painted all the chips and grim, etc...

I have to admit, that is the most metal looking non metal 3PO paint job I've seen yet. That could easily pass for a very weathered Tatooine 3PO. :)

Awesome work Howard. The blending of the various metallics is evident. Its subtle, and really sells the piece.

Also, theres a lot of square footage there to maintain a realistic weathering pattern on, and you NAILED it.

    Well done.

Love the base too. Add a plaque, stick a fork in it, and its done.
