ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies Found

I was so excited to see that blink & you'd miss it glimpse of the DL-44 at the end of the new trailer

but it's left me conflicted on the one hand I'll be so impressed if they've carefully recreated the ANH hero for the film but one of the things I was really looking forward to was building an all new Han Blaster & I've already built a ANH hero :lol

I love the updated E-11 White parts & all because it's familiar & new, maybe I'd have liked something similar for Han (a nice new Mauser based DL-44 built from cheap & easily identified & sourced parts would have been great ;))

what I think would be cool is if a few variants popped up in the films or Han opens a cabinet & all of the OT blasters were in there)

Cool ;-)

suelqu'un would be able to tell us whether or not the kit for the new film is from DEC or not

I'm going to bust in here for a minute, but some guys were asking me, the 1/3 scale kits are now available and will ship by 5/7/15

I came across a Mauser out in the wild:

Wow. Pricey. There were two here in Buffalo a few years ago for $700. Might have had terrible barrels.

Finally was able to disassemble my MGC pistol to un-cock it. Lol I tried shoving all manner of screwdrivers in there to trigger it. Glad it could be broken down. Remember, glue only if you have to.

THAT'S AWESOME!! Thanks scottjua!

Does anyone know if this blaster appears in Ep 7, and if it does, did anyone here help them re-create this blaster? Its not one of our kits, is it?

yes, looks like it, it had a blink & you'd miss it cameo in the latest trailer (Han's holding it in this pic)

or at least one that looks very similar

can't wait for better/fuller pictures of it :)

I noticed that first thing too! I was glad as I always consider this the definitive version, albeit I like the variances between movies and characters.

A little off topic, but does anyone know if there were ever any known MGC reproductions? A little while ago, I came into possession of what looks like an MGC Mauser, although the entire thing is made of plastic. It has fully movable parts, just like an MGC, and even chambers dummy rounds like the MGC does, although again, the whole thing isn't made of metal. It appears to have been made in Japan around the time the real MGCs were being made, and is clearly a recast, but does anyone know if anything like this is common? I'll get a pic of it soon, but I'm just curious.

Pretty sure you are talking about a Marushin but others that know more will have to chip in. I looked into MGC alternatives as well but finally had to settle on a Denix. :/

Pretty sure that This: 1432999978288.jpg Ain't no Marushin - It's the correct model Mauser, unlike any Marushin I've ever seen. It' made of lightweight plastic, and, being the owner of two MGCs myself, I can tell that this plastic version has fully movable and operational parts, just like the MGC.

Yep, the pin through the trigger is trademark MGC. I had no idea there was a plastic recast. Maybe someone else will chime in that has run into this beast before.

Yea, that's what I figured - it's obviously a modded recast of an MGC, but with all the individual internal parts cast one by one as well, so someone took their sweet TIME with this thing. (Dam thing cost me an arm anda leg too, but I knew I should get ti, or I'd probably never see another. :D)

Very intriguing! Interested to see what some of the other blaster guys here have to say about this ...
