ANH Hero DL-44 Discussion - Three ANH Greeblies Found

Here is the blaster using all the parts and info I listed above. I also went over all the pics I have of the actually blaster to get the weathering as close as I could. I don’t think the numbers are white on the actual prop but I like how it makes them pop..

Some are. The denix is fully reworked by myself (trigger, hammer, filled all holes etc) including a two set extrusion mark. I milled in the space then added the mark itself. The grips are DEC. The scope and mount are FM. We worked extensively together in designing the mount itself but I’ve reworked it even more. Thanks to what I saw Dann doing with his I sanded it but I also added the flats on the back. The bull barrel is my own designed part. I like it’s over all length, the ledge it creates and how Im able to get it to fit snug. And the flash is Todds. I’m going to add the antenna greeblie and grille, both are directly from Reade’s in the UK..

If I’ve missed anything forgive me.. oh ya and I used kpax info on added the one antenna greeblie. Not sure if I have it exactly how he discribes it but I think it’s close. Just missing the glue residue from the track? Going to post those pics below.

Thanks for all the information! I'm slowly working my way through this thread, there's a lot of information to digest. The parts you used and the work you put in really, really paid off.

Really really nice work, man! You do a great job modding them Denix's to make them look more like a real C96, and just all-around nicer in general!

I imagine it takes more time to "fix-up" a Denix than to sand and polish a scope cradle! Am I right?

Dann yeah it does, it took me about an hour and a half to spray paint cover the key positions and drill into the blaster. For smoothing out the barrel I was using sand paper of the grittiest kind for the first part, then I transferred to a multimaster to finish most of it off and then used my Dremel that my uncle gave me for the holidays to finish it off. Doing that part took about twenty hours, the majority of that time using the sand paper being a genius of course. To make the incisions I originally used a lego circle 2 by 2 piece with the technic hole in the middle and then taped it onto the c96 but trying to make it to be against the side so I simply did it freehand with nothing to support it. (I am a artist)

Thanks Dann. Im not sure about that as sanding that cradle was a bit of a nightmare in itself (as u well know)! But it really depends on how modified you want to go. Most the details I think go unnoticed but that’s also the goal right??

Here is something that I noticed a while ago but never questioned it. This is 3 separate pics. One is a preproduction photo. One is at Elstree Studios where filming took place and the last is from after filming wrapped. Each show the same missing detail. What’s happened here??

Rush job on the scope rings, and one got clipped while drilling I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I never noticed that before. Cool!

Hi chubsANDdoggers, assuming you mean the notch for the screw head, while there's definitely a screw in the left scope bracket (yellow circle) there doesn't seem to hole for it on the top, as can clearly be seen in the right bracket. Just wondering if the screw has been fitted from underneath rather than down from the top for some reason (??)
Seems odd but just a thought.

I believe that screw was just placed wrong which it why it doesnt show the hole like the rear one. Looking at it from the top its much closer to the edge and therefore the hole is solely on the flatter area instead of cutting into the round ring part

Yes. On the rear left ring, the screw relief chamfer is gouged and almost wiped away. Still there below the gouge.

Ya that’s exactly what I’m taking about. I don’t have an answer for it either but it does seem strange. The screw placement can’t be off (because of what it scews into is cut so there isn’t much room) so it must be filled for some strange reason??

^^. Not filled. Gouged and ground away.

If you look close, there is still a little bit of the countersink chamfer left. There are a few images where it can be seen very similar to the way I carved it in my model.

It’s hard to see honestly. With these two pictures and seeing how the light is reflected on both it really does look strange. Especially with how prominent the back one stands out. These again are two different pics taken months (probably longer) apart which shows it can’t be just the lighting.. ?
