Oils tend to crack and weather nicely as they age. yours looks very authentic

Normally I don't seal the oil paints, either. They can take awhile to "dry", but are pretty durable once they have.

But, I actually DID spray a little matte clear on the neck and rails of this hilt.

Still, like I said, it's still just not QUITE there, I think. I'm gonna do a little more experimenting with mixing in that other color I like so much.

Just remember oil paints don’t mix well with acrylics

If you want to seal the oil be sure to use a lacquer sealer

Any word on when this run will start production?

He mentioned with that last photo that they are sending him two to approve before starting the run, so he has to get those and approve them first. Probably another week at least, but maybe more with the holidays.
