Anakin Starkiller FX V2 - Aging Weathering & Stencil Tutorial (Master Thread)

Beautiful work! I love seeing these finished off so well. I especially love the job you did on the grip recesses and the way the copper on the neck pops just so. Looks just like the pictures that Brandon posted!

Thank you so much. I appreciate the feedback. Also thank you for, you know - actually making the thing :). I'm sure the process has its share of headaches. The community appreciates you!

Stepping away from Facebook and hanging out here more.

Some v2's I've finished recently. Obviously all possible due to Halliwax and the great efforts he takes to share the love.

Oh and the blue tape was on there to protect the booster during shipping.

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate this community! The ammount of time and analysis that has gone into the V2 is more than i ever imagined it being when i was 10 years old and started getting a huge interest in it! I'm super greatful for people like Halliwax , scottjua , and Trooper Trent for putting in effort and time to analyze this beautiful prop. Happy friday everyone!

Big shout to my man Halliwax for getting me this builders kit turned into a super heavy, accurate, spinning emitter beast of a V2.
The care and love that has gone into this is amazing. Thanks again dude. V2 is officially ticked off my list now! I am afraid pictures really don't show how amazing this piece is and the feeling of it in your hand with the added weight Danny added to this, it is perfect and exactly what I wanted:)

Hope everyone is keeping safe in these crazy times.

Halliwax Have you experimented with the Birchwood Technologies A15? Apparently it’s the same as A14, but specifically for immersion/dipping.

Edit: Also, how much A14 would you recommend to finish one V2?

I’ve used almost everything they got. I was instructed by one of their staff and shared the techniques here

The dipping requires longer times and is more permanent, making it harder to buff and remove

I stick with what I post here in the tutorial

Their 8oz bottle will work if you follow my instructions exactly

But if you experiment then you’re not going to have enough

Not sure if this is the right thread but I edited this photo to help me with weathering my hilt along with others.
