Any news, lately? Frankly, I’ve been too disgusted to look into whether the Nichols forgeries have sold, or if there’s been any other recent fraud in phaserland.

I dunno if this is in any way related, but this obviously fake tricorder is said to have been consigned by a “background actor”, which is basically the same scam used for the infamous hero phaser auction (as well as the fake midgrades that Nichelle Nichols was roped into shilling for).

Seriously. Only a huge fan with disposable income would bid on an auction like that. And…they would also know if it were real or not.

Looks like a convention phaser from the era it was said to be gifted during—late 80s/early 90s. Which doesn’t make a lot of sense, if it’s being passed off as a TOS prop. Except that…it isn’t? The listing almost makes it sound like Majel gifted it to a background actor from the TNG era, circa 1991, rather than someone who worked on TOS being gifted a phaser after filming ended (which was the BS story given for the fake hero auction).

He got quiet once his phaser forgery sold at auction, and he did manage to shut down HeroCom with his lawsuit threats....

The fact he was actually a lawyer is what made him be so bold
