I have never been ignored by intelligent people. (lol)

--- NONE OF YOU ARE ABLE TO ADMIT THIS IS THE REAL THING, WHY IS THAT?

PLEASE DO ANSWER THE ABOVE QUESTION!

"Extra Crispy" Colonel Sanders needs no explanation. IT IS SLANG which is an anathema towards accuracy. AGAIN YOU ARE ALL doing mindless Group Think actually deluding yourselves into believing you've "Won The Debate" when it ha been settled and you guys lost. This Phaser is the real thing and not one of YOU can bring yourselves to admit this is fact! WHY!?
You only deflect with mindless drivel when called out on your ignorance .

:DGET BACK UNDER YOUR BRIDGE!!!!!! :D

So to revisit why I feel several of you guys are insisting this is a fake: It still comes off as simple "envy". And as misery loves company, what I see happening here is the following:

"Why don't we all 'Group Think' style, tear this sucker down and reduce it's Auction Price potential!"

Or, put another way, an: "If I can't have it, no one can" mentality.

For me, again, just the thought of another surviving Hero Phaser is exciting. Hopefully, soon we will be provided the credible documentation and proof. Until then, I will just enjoy all the pictures that have been shared as, hopefully another example of my Favorite prop!

An excellent attitude to have! I continue to be baffled when these things needlessly descend into personal attacks and bitter arguments. Totally unnecessary.

Of course, when money and clout are involved, people tend to revert to their baser natures, unfortunately.

I skew toward "fake", but I feel the same way. Hopefully, we'll get credible proof. Until then, skepticism and polite discussion are natural and healthy. Throwing hissy-fits and hurling accusations is completely unwarranted, here.

Greg/Joe because all of you are financially attempting to destroy or at minimum reduce the monetary value of this item which iscoming up in a pending auction.

Aside from the esteemed ALLEY and robn1, I'd go with any number of people on the Trek Prop Zone Forum who have been studying and discussing these the props in detail for many, many years. thegooj, Feek61, ASALaw, etc., as well as the HeroComm gang, etc., etc.
Of course you do. You have all owned/evaluated the real articles.

We're all getting sued now because we speculated about the authenticity of a phaser going up for auction. Is that really what you're saying?

Paging Samuel T. Cogley...

Of course, that makes me think of a line relevant to this discussion--"If I drop a hammer on a planet with a positive gravity, I need not see if fall to know it has in fact fallen". Occam's Razor, people.

I, for one, look forward to this imaginary lawsuit!

Wow! almost no responses all day yesterday. Then five pages today.

To be clear, I wasn't arguing concretely that the Velcro couldn't be replaced. I was stating, in summary, the arguments against the phaser's authenticity that seem the most compelling. In all honesty, I'd love it if this was legit. It would give me a new model to replicate for my collection, which would be quite a bit of fun--examining the GJein sure has been a blast. I've enjoyed learning about the original and getting to dig into every detail. I wish there was another one to pick over, especially with such great references as we've been given here. But, as I've followed the objections made here and on other forums, those two points sounded compelling to me and in my internal deliberation on what I think/feel about it started to tip the scales.

Also, not responding for two hours in the middle of the work day is not ignoring someone for fear of engaging in discourse, it's being busy with work ;)
Mommy was home so little Timmy did not have access to the Forum!

I do have more photos that further make it clear this thing is a real. But none here will admit it is the real thing.
