All things Tron Legacy

Okay well I took a picture of a picture until I can scan it Monday, but here's nerdy me with Bruce holding my signed Identity disc, which looking back now wished I had paid attention to the way I was holding it with the signature upside down. HA! I always get disoriented with these celeb photo op pix because they push you in and out within mere seconds. "Next person. Stand here." 2 seconds and boom they just take the pic and you move on. I wish they would give you a 1-2-3 count or something! People pay good money to get these done do it'd be nice if they'd take just a wee bit of time to get it right. When I get it scanned I may do some photoshop glowing action on the disc for effect.

Below that is a pic of my disc signed.

I also took some nice HD video there. Not very much video, but enough to make a small 1 minute segment I simply titled "A Taste of Emerald City Comicon 2011." I really wished I could have gone all 3 days to capture more great footage, but I took what I could get not having a special press pass like I think I was supposed to have. I love DSLR, hehehe. There's a shot of Bruce Boxleitner in there as well as a fan wearing one of the cool replica costumes (maybe a member here?)

Did you ask him if TRON died in legacy? LOL! I know he couldn't answer. But I WOULD have asked!

watched this for the first time last night and this is all i'll say

i wouldn't even force my worst enemy to watch that steaming pile of turd.....i mean...seriously?....$170 million for that?

without doubt one of the worst hack jobs of a film i've ever seen, even the "prettiness" of it was overwhelmed by the rubbish story and obvious "made for 3d"-ishness of it...

its should be the poster boy for why 3d needs to go away, and soon....

So basically you didn't like it. That's all you had to say. :)

Everyone's got different preferences of movies. If a film took me away from the cruel real world for a couple hours and took my mind off life then it did the job.

I like fun movies. I don't classify a great film as one with a deep story. From Tron Legacy I just connected with it cuz it was imaginative and reminded me of times where I wished I could be wisked away into another world of fantasy like that. I know it's no Star Wars, but I just really loved it.

Totally cool if you didn't like it though. I just wouldn't have wasted my time posting anything in a thread of people who seem to be otherwise pretty passionate about the film.

On the topic of 3D I don't at all think the 3D was an effective use of the technology for this film. It didn't need it and would have been happy with a plain IMAX presentation.

Well said sir! I completely agree with everything you wrote.

now now, the thread is called "All things Tron Legacy" not "only say nice things about Tron Legacy" so I had every right to say what I did....

just because someone disagrees doesn't mean their point is any less valid...

No one said your point wasn't valid robo3687.

I just think 99.9% of people who post on this thread would disagree with you. And that's OK. You're entitled to your opinion :)

I love when people come into a thread started to post content from a given franchise and their rudely-worded detraction isn't well received, they claim they're "entitled to their opinion." Yeah, well, we're also entitled to some common courtesy, Robo.

Yeah. We don't come and talk crap in your threads on the my little pony forum! :lol JK

But seriously it is kinda rude. I have never understood a persons need to rain on others parades and borderline insult the intelligence of those who like a certain movie or franchise. :unsure

I stay out of Buffy and power rangers threads because I have nothing nice to say about them. I really don't get peoples obsession. But each to their own. If it makes them happy I SAY GO FOR IT! :cool

So it's your excuse to be abrasive and condescending to those that actually enjoy the movie. You mean to tell me you're taking the time to come to a forum where people are excited about a certain movie to simply knock it?

Get a life buddy and concentrate on the positives in life and I guarantee you'll be a lot happier and less lonely. I hope you grow for your own good and those around you....and I mean that sincerely.

Now back to the topic at hand...awesome links guys. It's more research for the outfits we're all making.

I get why people don't care for the movie, but seriously....I thought it was awesome! The music was amazing, the graphics were awesome, and the plot was -easy to follow-. No, it wasn't as well-written as it could have been, but who cares? It was entertaining, exciting, and managed to hold my attention for the ENTIRE span of the movie. Like someone else here said; a movie doesn't need to have a deep meaning or anything to be good. I, for one, love Tron Legacy.

Aside from the movie, I'm also totally hooked on the awesome glowy aesthetics of the whole thing. I have a copy of the movie saved to my MP3 player, which has a wallpaper of Sam on a lightcycle. My phone (which I got before I had any interest in seeing the movie) is the black Samsung Intensity 2, which somewhat reminds me of Rinzler, AND it has a wallpaper of Sam vs. CLU on lightcycles. I'm getting addicted, and my family thinks I'm nuts, but I don't care. Atleast I haven't yet become "Tron Girl" lol
XD

Easter Eggs from Tron Legacy:

If anyone wants the location of this shot, that's the Pattullo bridge on the right and the CN railway bridge on the left, taken from the New Westminster side of the Fraser River looking south towards Surrey (Vancouver area).

Also, a second video is a hidden easter egg on the DVD/Blu Ray set coming out. Hidden, but contains a conversation between two movie characters.
