It's getting so close to done!! I can almost taste it, and it tastes a bit like mineral spirits, lol. After the base coat of color was put on, I put my coat of Alclad gloss on it, I put a couple of small decals on it then sealed those with more gloss then applied some weathering and washes. My feeling is that this vessel has been traveling around the local part of the galaxy for about 30-40 years and has accumulated some wear on its corners and other spots. It hasn't really affected the functioning of the ship as much as cosmetics. I can only imagine though how refitted many of the interior sections have become. Whoever the commander of this vessel is, they must've drawn the short straw to be given such an old vessel, lol. I'm going to get the excess wash cleaned off tonight and once that dries, I'll hit it with my Alclad Matte and call it done! Then onto the video editing. I'll have about 80-85 hours into this guy. It's amazing how the time adds up!
Thanks, StevieLewis! I haven't yet, only because I'm not sure what the "aliens" would call it, lol. Maybe it can be part of the back story that the ship doesn't actually have an official name, but the crew gave it a "nickname", something that might mean "reliable" in their alien language. I just have to think up what that might sound like. That would make for a better story in m y build video as well .
Love the wear and tear to bits...literally All of the details are popping left and right and it really look like a used ship with quite a few miles under its belt

Thank you Joberg! I also wanted to add, the blue tape is covering the battery and switch compartment for painting purposes. This area is where the shuttle bay cover attaches. Once it's all done and, on its base, I'll get the final beauty shots and share
Hey friends!! The ship is done and the video is posted. Thank you to everyone for the kind words as I have posted the pictures throughout the process.
Here's my final beauty shots of the build and a link to the video if you care to check it out!!
Thanks Carl!! It was a bit quick for a model huh?! I was plugging away as quick as possible so I could get my video on the build of it out on my YouTube channel. Thank you so much for your kind words and I am checking back frequently on your build. I can't wait to see it when it's done I also check back on your build for more tips and tricks I can use!
