Hm that is interesting.... If you notice in Alien the jockey was freakishly huge compared to the humans... in Prometheus he's not near as big nor is the ship... I was wondering if that was a design flaw on the movie maker side or if it was actually relevant to the theory....
I hope not. The ship and interior were not even the same design as the one from Alien, and the biomechanical look inside was very different. I think that was from a different place, different time. Since the alien life cycle as we know it from Alien is depicted on the ampule room wall, I think that ship is from a much earlier time.
Ridley directed that it be different look, more mechanical than biomechanical (according to one of the behind the scenes vids posted here) for that very reason I'm sure.
By the way, the Art of Prometheus confirms something we surmised on the other Prometheus thread. Each dome has several ship hangers surrounding it, and there was a literal army of ships there.
