I don't know how large a dime is :lol

I'd guess 1/2 inch?

Duh, it's as big as that nutplate ;) :lol

I found 12-cube ice trays this morning, so they do still exist.

Here's the two-pack still in the plastic.

Measurements are 4.5" x 11".

Well, like I mentioned in the PM (might as well make this info public so everyone knows what we're looking for), the screen used tray is approximately 8 1/2" x 3 3/4". That's based on the photos from post #s 28 & 29 and using my 505 for reference.

Back to searching...

I just snagged this:

Is it correct?

That's the one.

"You've taken the first step into a larger world" - A world of staring at ice cube trays for days on end and wondering what the RF shield on the 40 yr old oscilloscope looks like :lol

Nope, sorry. If you take a look at the originals from earlier in the thread, you'll see that the knobs have a very narrow taper, straight across. The one you posted are much wider and have a finger groove. The knobs I posted back on page 12 or 13 (or here, if you don't want to search http://www.okwenclosures.com/products/okw/slide-knobs.htm ) are the closest we have found without identifying the original piece.

Anyone have any luck with that dang icecube tray, yet?

Anyone making any progress on this eternally infernal pain in the butt prop?

Who would think that some as stupid as an ice cube tray could be so hard to track down?

I've been looking over trays for so long now I can't even straight. Can someone double check the measurements I came up with a few posts up? I used the pics from earlier in the thread, my ranger 505 and a ruler to get close approximations. A second set of measurements would be nice.

Thanks,
Fred

Just thought I'd bump this to see if anyone's made any damn progress.

I'm still looking for the blasted ice cube tray. I'm at the point where I might be ready to commision one of the sculptors around here to sculpt and vacform/cast a few for those of us who are still working on this thing.

I can't believe a simple 12 cube tray can be so damn hard to find.

I have a few 12 trays now, but not correct to the movie one.

I think every tray I've seen has the little dimples (from casting?) inthe bottom of the cups, which the movie oneis missing.

Even if it's the correct size, the dimples can be sanded or filled in (depending on which way the dimple goes).

I can only find specialty trays (and I'm pretty sure I don't want mickey mouse or penis shaped trays on my tracker), mini cube trays or the old aluminium trays, so you're doing better than me.

Every now & then I'll go searching eBay for those slide switches, but they too begin to look like icecube trays after awhile.:wacko
