You got it right this time.

Yeah that's what I did the final time and will do from now on... I'm really sorry for all the wasted space... please for give me.

Did you guys read that letter on that guys website from Christopher Reeve? It made me tear up... that thing is awesome... Here is Milwaukee we have a billboard on the Freeway with Christopher on it to promote research for spinal injuries and and it's a white background with a black and white picture of him on it and next to him it says in bold letters SUPERMAN. I get goose bumps everytime I drive by it.

I believe your problem is the host. Yahoo doesn't like to remote link, so you can use it to host a picture here. You could probably try something else. If you have AOL, they would do it. Or just use WackyChimp!

Any of you guys have any ideas for displaying the Superman costume? I'm already planning on have it on a mannequin, but it might look too plain and "off" since it's the only prop that will be standing about in my living room. I was thinking of surrounding him with my Smallville props and have one of those Ikea lamps hang over him. I even thought about posing him like he is in the first film talking to Jor-El's holographic image.

Just got my mannequin in yesterday, so I thought I'd dress him up...

This sure makes a world of difference than just folding it up or hanging it off a hanger. The mannequin is 6'2 and looks thin, but has the same build Reeve had in the first film when he first changed into costume for the helicopter scene.

More to come for this display...

That's a real nice display, Aeon. I think it needs a few crystals or an original poster behind it to complete the look..

You may recall I was dissapointed to find out the 'S' applique on the cape was somewhat different to the symbol on the tunic. I didn't realise to what extent until I researched it and found that not only is it a differing design altogether, but the symbols are also different sizes!! The cape patch is approx 1" shorter and about 1/2" less wide.
Here is the applique as originally designed;

And here is my new patch, ready and waiting to be embriodered...

You can see how much more rounded and similar it is to the real cape already...

More pics to follow as more work has been completed on the suit..!

Here is my mannequin so far.

Happy 25th anniversary to Superman The Movie!

My Digicam came in useful for these new pictures...
Seamstress has been busy and has cut the body of the cape. I did a try on last night so we could pin it for the shoulders and length. it was much lighter in weight than I'd anticipated and it drapes beautifully. The shoulders will be bulked out with backing next.

The beltloops are also finished and the rib was achieved by a single pleat in the centre. Notice the digicam shows colours are more vibrant and closer to reality than previous shots..

It's the symbol I'm most pleased with, however. Refinements have been made (though it's still not 100%).

Comments are welcome as usual, fellas..

Looks great I'm sure you will be the talk of every neighborhood kid after they see your costume,
they might even "Believe a man can Fly"!

The chest logo turned out great! Looks like the film version,
any advice for those of us who want to do the logo the same way?

Looks great! Everything is so even and crisp. I think the cape may just be a tad short though. The cape rests about an inch or two under the knee caps, right on top of the backside of the boots. More pics!!

Looking at it again I think Aeon is right, I compared it to a photo of reeve in the full suit and your cape looks a little too short, still looks great though!

Here's a great shot showing the cape in different poses:

thanks for the valuable input, guys -
I agree the cape does look a little shy of proper length. I've been studying some full length shots of Reeve and it seems the cape does vary between the backs of the knees and the top of the calf. My concern is that when the shoulders are filled it'll raise even more..
Back to the cloth, then!
