About The mummy returns prop-Help!!!

I hope all this images help to make soon the replicate pages. If i have more infos i will upload them soon.

I still cant make our that second hieroglyphic, but do think the rest look like the ones I thought previously.

Let me know if you want any real world references, I spend a lot of time in the British Museum so I can go to the Egyptology section and grab you some photos of sarcophagi and the other funerary monuments they have in there.

Well now studing the Nefertiti life i found something and i think that this have rellation with the image below:
cartouche1nedited11.jpg

The number 1 hieroglyph is sure the god Ra as correct said Robert said, that is 100% sure.
The numbert 2 hieroglyphs Robert said that he do not have no idea but i believe that i finally discover who is.I am not 100% sure for that. This is the pharaoh Hatshepsut. The second hieroglyphs maybe belong to him.
In the 15th century B.C. the female pharaoh Hatsepsut ruled Egypt in the guise of a man, complete with a ceremonial false beard.

Thank You very much Robert we can ask someone else more expertise to tell us about this cartouche but i believed that maybe belong to Hatshepsut.Someone more expertise maybe know better.

Also with little internet search somewhere i found that .This is a real prop from the movie and it used in the movie. As we see there is the god Ra on it and other Egyptian Hieroglyphs symbols.I upload this photo because maybe this can help us to understand more about the other Egyptian cartouche image.

I have the full set of hieroglyphics, I found the original while researching in the Egyptology section of the British Museum.

I'll post the pictures when I get home :)

For the left hand side bar of hieroglyphics:

Here is the original for the right hand side bar of hieroglyphics:

As a bonus, here is a couple of shots of a sarcophagus I also found which have the same Pharaoh's cartouche on:

So there you go that should be all you need to get cracking remaking the page.

@ath200 I suggest that you try using the bitmap tracing functionality in Inkscape (or equivalent in Illustrator). That should do a good job rendering the correct scorpion.

Your 3rd hieroglyph is also incorrect, the original looks like the mouth symbol with horns on the corners. Looking at the original it looks like the 4th and final hieroglyph is one of the arm symbols, but I cant see if it's an empty hand or not.

Also if you look at the screen shot where you can see the full page the cartouche is more like this and not just a flat line on the bottom.

I think that the Mummy prop guys really liked this set of hieroglyphics, I was just watching the first film and look what I saw in the background of one of the shots:

Hi Robert thank you once time again for your help my name is Athina and i am from Greece.Robert i discovered something somebody who know very well told me that the producers of the Mummy used real book. The book wrote one famous Egyptologist but this person who told that ,wasnt sure if the producers done the same and with the second movie the mummy returns.I checked already for the first movie and is truth.I had and one photo to my hands as a proof.I must check the bibliography of this Egyptologist first and then if no i will replicate the pages as you said.

His name is E.A Wallis Budge.E.A Wallis Budge was an Egyptologist who worked for the British Museum.

For the first movie producers used the book the Dwellers on the Nile 1891 year edition.I will upload photo of this book tomorrow.

It is quite interesting i discovered and other things so movies The Mummy and Mummy returns maybe are based to his bibliography. Also he wrote a book with the name Book of the dead.

You wont find anything about years of scorpions in a book, it's made up just for the film. The hieroglyphs used all come from that monument I posted the photos of earlier in the tread.

That said, it's clear from all the hieroglyphics that they definitely did their research and didn't just make it all up (ignoring the whole year of the scorpion business). I also liked that Alex read the hieroglyphics in the correct direction when they run into the pyramid to revive Evie.

Did you also spot our favourite hieroglyphics popped up in the pyramid too:

Then on the other side of that corridor where they battle the awful CGI Scorpion Rock:
