AAV Drop Ship

Ah ha ha,
Analyzer-san, you must be an expert of the philosophy of monopoly.

Can you find any other game you enjoy with your family together for few hours? Nowadays, it is so difficult.
As I hear you, everyone has a good memory with this game.

I assume there will be Star Wars Monopoly or Star Trek Monopoly on the market. If you decorate it like the one scene from the movie, it will be a good gift for your good friend. That's the good opportunity that you modeler could show what you are. ;)

That was not my post, but it is funny and true

I just personally don't enjoy Monopoly as much. I would much rather play just about any other board game at game night

We usually get together with other family members and/or friends periodically for a board game night.

Life is a popular one.

various trivia games

although some of my personal favorite...

Giant Killer Robots - multi player. You have a large robot, and three smaller ones (a recon, combat and repair) You basically fight the other players in a city. winning by either collapsing 4 buildings, or being the last one standing

Captain Sonar is really fun. Two teams, and each person has a job in a sub and you are trying to find the location of the enemy sub. The navigators call out which direction and how many spaces they are moving while One person tracks the other teams directions while the engineer determines what systems can be used and when it can fire etc...

The Thing: Infection at outpost 31 is also fun. Basically it is a group game and one person is secretly the Thing and everyone has to work towards . It's pretty much just like the movie. The infected have to make the others lose and escape while the others have to find out who the infected is. Others can become infected as well

Betrayal at House on the Hill - It is kind of a horror based game where everyone explores a house until the "haunt" happens at which point one person becomes the traitor and they have a set of objectives they have to accomplish and the rest have to figure out what they are and stop them

Scythe - it is an engine-building, asymmetric, competitive board game set in an alternate-history 1920s period. It is a time of farming and war, broken hearts and rusted gears, innovation and valor. In Scythe, each player represents a fallen leader attempting to restore their honor and lead their faction to power in Eastern Europa. Players conquer territory, enlist new recruits, reap resources, gain villagers, build structures, and activate monstrous mechs.

Wow, you have many very interesting games out there.
Huum... Here in Japan, those board games are not very popular by now.The boom of this game was gone after '90s. That was when the start of dark age and Japanese families had take the different way than before. Fathers are working until late at night, mothers go out for work to help the living expences. Kids have to go to the prep school for the junior high after school. No time for family do something together.
Ahh, this is not a good talking for the end of the year.

I hope you enjoy your games. I really want to play that submarine game!

Here's just a few progress.

Making a nose section.
To see how the proportion of this section for the overall fuselage, I carved a wooden mock-up. If it would be satisfactory, it would turns to be a plug for the canopy forming.

It may need a bit adjustment but almost OK, I think.
The gearbox is for the actuator arm of the nose tilting mechanism.
I bought this worm gearbox which can select 4 speeds. I've chosen the lowest speed one.

a few days ago, our cat died at 15.
Seemed he was in a bad physical condition last week and was getting weak and couldn't eat a bit.
That evening, he died like fall asleep in my daughters arms.
We buried him at the sunny corner of our little garden.
We gonna miss him for a while.

Sorry about your cat. It's hard losing pets.

On the bright side, your making some good progress on the ship

Sorry for the loss of your pet/family member too my friend, fifteen ( human yrs? ) seems a pretty good life - especially with your family.:D

That nose/canopy is looking sweet too. It’s shape kinda reminds me of some existing unmanned drones - totally lethal !:p

Nice work as always. But so sorry for the loss of the cat. Ive lost many over the years as well, never easy.

For Cherunenko to have lived 15 years is evidence that he was taken very good care of. That's a great picture of him. It looks like he had plenty of personality.

Was Cherunenko the fellow you made the splint for? Your family took very good care of him. You and your family have my sympathy.

Oh, I thank you very much for your very kind comments.
I've been so touched. He was the first cat lived so long and died in our house. Although he suffered the disorder of his legs in last few couple of months, he never depressed or getting down or gave it up. Of course he is a cat. He might not know the meanings of his life. But still he tell us many things. Many important things. On the day before his last day of his life, he got up and went to check his gardens and territory with a critical condition. Did he know it's the last time he can see it? I don't know.

We are alright and getting over it. (I know still my daughter is weeping in her bed at night). We are alright.

Thank you very much, gentlemen.

Katsu-san, I am sorry for the loss of your beloved pet:( there is no more pain for him though and that is a good thing.
I wish you and your loved ones strength to overcome his absence

Thank you very much for stopping by and leaving me a very kind words, George-san.
I thought I predicted about the day might come but I never thought the death of a little pet is so much pain for me.
Thank you again, my friend.

Not good to think about the sad thing so long time.
Instead, let's do some productive things and one of the few productive things I can is model building.

Well, before build the external fuselage of the nose section, I started to build the nose landing gear mechanism and housing.
Today I made a landing gear strut.
The ring in a pic was a parts of an arm of desk light stand.
I thought I could use this for the wheel brake housing.

They say this type of landing gear is called Oleo-pneumatic shock absorber.
I don't know the meaning of oleo. It's not about the spread anyway I guess.
I will add some more detailing parts on this and then I build a couple of rubber tires and landing gear housing next.

Thanks for looking.

That looks amazing. Every component of your models is so thoughtfully designed and built.

"Oleo" is related to oils, so it is connected to margarine. That type of gear uses both gases and oils to provide the shock-absorption that keeps the plane from bouncing around on landing.

Now that is an example of Model ‘ building ‘ at it’s best !
Katsu-san your modelling skills continue to amaze, thank you.:p

Thank you,Ged-san!

He is not building models, he is building working prototypes

That must have been a lot of hard work

Thanks always, Analyzer-san.
Hard work but I am becoming to love to make those tiny parts.

Oh, as I thought a bit, that has to do with margarine, not connected with Oreo cookie. ....Hum, here's a Problem of L and R again.

I became be able to build these gimmicks bit faster than it used to be. Sometimes I drew a blueprint but most of time I had been doing trial and error again and again. In many times it ended up in fail but it was not in vain at all. It seems each trial had been accumulating many knowledge to me. I am becoming to like failing. It's one of the main part of fun factor of 'building'.

Sorry to hear about your pet, yuumi-san. Losing a part of the family is always difficult. May his spirit live on in your family's heart.

The landing gear looks very robust and detailed.

Thanks always and your warm comment, Tazman-san. My cat is so lucky to have so many loving words.

Will post the following pics soon.
