Ah ha ha,
Analyzer-san, you must be an expert of the philosophy of monopoly.
Can you find any other game you enjoy with your family together for few hours? Nowadays, it is so difficult.
As I hear you, everyone has a good memory with this game.
I assume there will be Star Wars Monopoly or Star Trek Monopoly on the market. If you decorate it like the one scene from the movie, it will be a good gift for your good friend. That's the good opportunity that you modeler could show what you are.

That was not my post, but it is funny and true
I just personally don't enjoy Monopoly as much. I would much rather play just about any other board game at game night
We usually get together with other family members and/or friends periodically for a board game night.
Life is a popular one.
various trivia games
although some of my personal favorite...
Giant Killer Robots - multi player. You have a large robot, and three smaller ones (a recon, combat and repair) You basically fight the other players in a city. winning by either collapsing 4 buildings, or being the last one standing
Captain Sonar is really fun. Two teams, and each person has a job in a sub and you are trying to find the location of the enemy sub. The navigators call out which direction and how many spaces they are moving while One person tracks the other teams directions while the engineer determines what systems can be used and when it can fire etc...
The Thing: Infection at outpost 31 is also fun. Basically it is a group game and one person is secretly the Thing and everyone has to work towards . It's pretty much just like the movie. The infected have to make the others lose and escape while the others have to find out who the infected is. Others can become infected as well
Betrayal at House on the Hill - It is kind of a horror based game where everyone explores a house until the "haunt" happens at which point one person becomes the traitor and they have a set of objectives they have to accomplish and the rest have to figure out what they are and stop them
Scythe - it is an engine-building, asymmetric, competitive board game set in an alternate-history 1920s period. It is a time of farming and war, broken hearts and rusted gears, innovation and valor. In Scythe, each player represents a fallen leader attempting to restore their honor and lead their faction to power in Eastern Europa. Players conquer territory, enlist new recruits, reap resources, gain villagers, build structures, and activate monstrous mechs.
