AAV Drop Ship

Simply amazing work, my friend. You inspire me to go above and beyond... Thank you.

Your welcome and thank you so much, korben-san.

Absolutely beautiful work!

Thank you!! g0rb-san.

My father was a craftsman sheet metal worker and made miniature models in metal at home. If he were alive today I'd be showing him your work with great enthusiasm and I know he'd be impressed by what you're achieving.

Thank you very much for the your kind words, skiffy-san. Looks your father passed away too early. I'm sorry but I'm sure he fully enjoyed his job and hobby life.

katsu

That's what makes a true craftsmen. Taking the time to get it right even if it means starting it over

Thank you very much, Analyzer-san.

OK, finally I finished the wing assembly.

This was a very tough part to design and build. Thanks to your kind support, I could reach another milestone.
Now I'm working on a tale part. I always have a thought that I don't want to disappoint my good friends who cheer me all the time.

Thank you very much for your comments and many 'like's.
All I can do is do my best to reward your support.

We’re Rewarded every time you post Katsu-san, a build project or otherwise...., you multi-talented fiend !

Thanking you Sir ! ;)

The panelling and rivet work on that shiny surface is beautiful Katsu-san! Very neat, very precise and above all very symmetrical.

That tail section looks amazing!

I know it is a little early yet, but are you going to paint it or leave it as the bare metal? And if you are going to paint it, what colors?

Thank you, Ged san.

This looks really nice. I like the rivit look on the wings. Can't wait to see more!

Thank you, Hopli san.
I will post progress soon.
Katsu-san, if you HAD gone into engineering, there'd probably be people on Mars now... :)

Thanks, Tom san.
I m sure NASA would have been bankrupted before they move in to Mars. XD

Thank you,g0rb san.
The most tough part was to make it precisely which I always feel difficult to do.
Thank you again.

Thanks Analyzer san.

Now I feel like when I built the previous model.
Bare metal finish is so clean and nice but finally I would paint it. I am thinking the color. How about dark bluish gray ?

You're metal working skills are getting cleaner and more precise with each project! BRAVO! Amazing work!

Thank you, always Sofaking san.

Today, I'm gonna visit my daughter No.2 apartment in Chigasaki and also my old friend of high school are waiting for me there. The last time I saw them was 36 years ago.

It's a tough choice for sure. After all, there is a precedence for the bare metal in real life aircraft

I think dark bluish grey would also look great. Something like the color of a Tie Fighter? Like a Tamiya TS32 Haze Grey?

Even a camouflage pattern would look good.

Tie fighter gray is what I'm thinking now. I guess, the red or yellow caution marks and insignia will be appearing well.

36 years?! WOW! Enjoy the time and especially the trip down memory lane!

Agreed - y'all have a lot to catch up on! And I hope daughter #2 is doing well. She's still sewing?

That was amazing.
Before I meet up with them, I visited my high school.
I can not believe but nothing is changed.
All the classrooms, chairs, corridor, toilette, lockers, diner....everything is same as 45 years ago.
This is kind of miracle at least here in Japan.
And oh, my friends are the same old kids as they were.
Of course, they lost hair, jaded, just like agree old man.
But they are the same bad boys I knew.
We talked hours and hours until midnight.
Now I feel like l m a little younger than yesterday.

Front row, looking side is me 45 years ago.

A boy

Maybe I mixed up sometime before but my daughter here is the one sculpt that zombie. As I showed her my latest build, she looked so happy.

That's a fantastic picture. Glad you had a great time.

Ah, I got confused. (Understandable, I guess, since each is highly talented.) I do hope she returns to sculpting. The zombie was amazing.

The tail wing section was finished.

As I looking at the tail end, I think it's too straight and it makes look tail heavy.
Maybe I should cut the edge up to slightly thinner towards both wing tips

Thanks to the kind care of my daughter No.2, the short trip to my old place was so happy. I visited around the place I was living. Not too much changed. When I was living there in 40 years ago, it was so tough time but the world was so simple and I loved this place.

This is the small pool my little sister used to have fun in summer.
My mother told me to watch her every time.

I visited the 70 years old chinese restaurant. The last time I ate here was also 40 years ago but nothing changed.

Maybe some of you have some places remains deep in memory.
I thought it's not a bad idea to take a couple of day off and make a short trip to there.

Thanks for looking,

Katsu

The build is coming along beautifully! So precise.

A trip down memory lane. Very nice. Awesome that the restaurant is still like it was, like a place where time stood still. I want to take my kids to where I grew up too. That is on another continent in a different country though, it'll have to wait :)

Thank you g0rb-san.

While we were walking along my memory lane, my daughter came to know a bit more about me which she haven't known till then.
The pain I felt, the joy I felt. And maybe she suddenly came to know that all I thought back then is what she feels nowadays. We no different.
Maybe your kids will come to know at there what you had thought back then, what you had feel back then. You would be a mirror for each other.
