Limited Run 3D Scans of 150+ Star Wars Confirmed Donors

I've done some research into it, and I am going to be getting "some" (thought not all) of the 32-inch Falcon original confirmed donors, so at least part of your problem is solved, if not all of it.
Well with a Teir 8 spot the Deagostini parts "could" be scanned :) Just sayin'

if i was to say purcahhse the highest tier would you be willing to scan items that i send you, unrelated to the run

Shaun,

Yes, absolutely, but within limits: how many greeblies are we talking about?

Jedi Dade: I'm going to scan each and every greeblie "that I know of" and "that I acquire" related to the 32" ESB Falcon, it's just that I am not an expert on that particular model and don't have an authoritative sheet listing the confirmed donors or an authoritative parts map for that model -- which may or may not even exist (my perception was that it doesn't really exist simply because DeAgostini came along and reproduced it "semi-faithfully") long before anyone on RPF tried to replicate the original model. But I could be totally wrong about this, in which case please send me the links or URLs of the best sources.

Studio Kitbash,
The hard drive I am sending you will have a lot of what you need in this area and so much more. :)

Well to my recollection the 32" Millenium Falcon was an early subject here on the RPF... the earliest one I know of (apologies if its not correct) was Tim Ketzer's model... which was a damn nice replica. The next attempt I was aware of is the one that Moe and Frank collaborated on. ICONs tried to get Tim's model molded for resale but that fell through at some point, and many years later Tim sold the master molds that he had made for that project and there was a very short (10 I think) of hulls made from that mold in fiber glass. The Master replicas made their replica... which if memory serves Frank and Moe assisted with... then several years later Steve Dymszo (who used to work for master replicas) helped DeAgostini make theirs. The long and short of it is that the Deagostini has ties to the Master Replicas offering - that has ties to folks around here - and it used scans off the original to make up its parts... The DeAgostini is pretty close - not perfect but probably 95%+ accurate - externally. Granted with purpose built parts instead of kitbashed etc... but it "looks" correct if that makes sense. If you needed a specific greeblie , and copied the deagostini part you'd probably be pretty close... there are notable exceptions. Of course there is no real substitute for the real part(s)... which is what this project is about. I was just trying to give the lad options if he needed something that was not readily available. I have a DeAgostini Kit sitting around my stash - if he needs something specific we can probably hook him up... if that last top tier spot was filled - hint -hint..

Jedi Dade,

Okay, this is good to know -- I only joined RPF recently (2016ish?), so don't know about the very early builds. If they are still up and if you know the URLs of these builds, please post the links, I'd love to see them. My experience, so far, however, is that once a thread is more than three to five years old the pictures either disappear or the server they were on goes out of business, or something else technical makes it impossible to go back and recreate/recapture the original thread and images. So if anyone has these, let me know.

Meanwhile, there is still one Tier 8 Spot, and as Jedi Dade said, "hint hint"...

Thanks,

SK

I'm at work so I can't google most things - they restrict stuff... (Somehow the RPF slipped through their checking) But if you Google Tim Ketzer, and find some killer millenium Falcon Pics you probably found him... :).

Similarly you can try to see another Falcon... again I can't check that URL here at work but that was whats watermarked on some of his pics.

GREAT Builders.

I couldn't get the .dk site to work, but the Tim Ketzer stuff looked pretty good -- just wish he'd take better close-up pictures, and wish he'd done a catalog of the greeblies he used.

You gotta remember these were made and taken before this was an actual hobby ;) The Best digital camera on the market (at that time) was not even in the same league as what is on the below average phone these days... Back in the what the heck is a megapixel days :D

Hi. This sounds very interesting indeed. I would be interested in tier 5 or 6. Is there a deadline for contributing? Thank you.

i have a flash drive of 32 inch falcon pics. im sure they are not amazingly new or anything seing as i bought them from someone on here, it probably wouldnt add much to the discussion but i would happily we transfer them to anyone for a charitable donation to your favourite charity. (even a quid) i wouldnt need proof or anything, if its a help, message me first as id have to go through a load of flash drives to find the right one.

Please know that the hard drive I sent to Studio Kitbash is free (a donation).
I have opted in to a tier at full price.

I provided this HD to him for this project and possibly others. It was originally going to be an empty drive. Used for storage and or backup for all the scans he is going to do for this 3D scanning project. I figured... why send it empty?

The hard drive I sent has 126 GB worth of reference photos. In addition to that, it also includes 3D files, part maps and more.
Reference photos include and not limited to: 32" falcon, 5' falcon, AT-AT, X-Wing, Tantive IV and so much more.

This is almost ALL the research that I have collected over many many years.

This drive along with all the books that I know we both have should cover almost every angle of almost every ship.

No, the information/reference I sent to Studio Kitbash is not for sale/trade/etc..
Please do not ask.

He should have it in his hands VERY soon. I can not wait as I think he will be very surprised and happy with all that is included.
