3D printed Fallout 4 Mini nuke Cross Section Model

Hey Guys,

We put up a quick video on the nuke's assembly if you wonder how these things come together. A lot of people think 3D printing is just a hit print and you're finished type deal, but this not the case if you want good results from a desktop printer.

This is awesome, from a person whos not even that into Fallout. In fact the first thing I've seen from it other than a commercial.
The final product is amazing. Leaving the print lines on the outter shell really puts an old rustic look it. Not to mention the paint job, spot on:thumbsup

I know this isn't an interest thread, and I read from the site that kits and plans and not yet available. However as someone who does not have a 3D printer does this mean kits will be available in the future?

Thanks!

To clarify, printed kits ARE available now: http://shop3d.ca/product-category/print-to-order/3d-printed-kits/
The prints on these ones are actually finer than the original one I made (so less print lines in general) They take about 60 print hours to make one.

The cross section Nuke is only available as a printed kit, the shell is available as a free download on youmagine, or as a printed kit.

Fantastic. Not only as a mini-nuke, but the deconstructed insides... amazing idea.

Plus your paintjob/weathering is also amazing.

correct me if im wrong but isnt this the same kit that is being worked over right now by the guys on tested.com ive been watching the vids on youtube but forgot who actually made their kits.

Valcrow simply amazing!! :eek I've been following you through tested.com and your models are unbelievably impressive :)
Thanks for sharing everything :)

Yup that's the same model, Sean from tested printed theirs to paint/finish, but I designed and provided the STLs for them to print.

Hey guys, since the lightsaber one was pretty popular, we made an assembly guide video thing for this one as well. (no painting yet. maybe in the future) But if you're wondering how 3D printed parts go together, here it is!

This was an awesome kit, super fun. Followed Vacrow's lead and kept her pretty rough.

That turned out awesome! We printed the kits at much higher resolution than the original one I did, did you fill/sand at all? or just paint directly on it?

I sanded the internal parts here and there, as for the outter shell I primed and painted right out of the box. Also finished up the Redicubricks block today.

This kit was a blast. Now I'm looking into microwave motors for a motorized lazy Susan to display this beast.
