3d print your Comm pad

I have designed in 3d the Imperial and Rebel comm pads (curved for better fit as others have done before) and printed one for my self.

As always models are free to download so you can print them at home... if you have a multi-color printer other wise just get the model you want and then paint it. If you print them from shapeways it comes in full color and here are a few pics of mine.

you bet, and if you want to search around my account there are a lot of models that I have made. One thing to note is that all the models were optimized for shapeways trying to reduce cost as much as possible... so in home printers you might want to add a bit more thickness and supports.

Thanks fantastic! I already had mine printed and painted up awhile back but what a fantastic resource for costumers. Being curved is also a huge bonus over the files that are currently out there.

Did you make/print the one you have or is that from shapeways? I am guessing you made it because isn't sandstone the only multicolor option on shapeways?

Thanks guys.. and yes all of them are full size and the on i got is from shapeways in full color sandstone.. i did not do anything else other than put it on the pocket.

What do you think of the sturdiness of the sandstone? Do you think it would chip easily, or shatter if knocked around?

Forgot to mention that there is also the all white version that you can paint in any scheme you want.

its the same as the rest but you can print it in white polished material for a smoother look.

I have been thinking on doing custom colors (non canon) or probably scaled down sizes for kids costumes... is there any interest on that?

My flightsuit has a smaller "pocket" for the wrist comm. The opening for it to stick out is only 5x5cm (thats 2x2 inches). Do you know it there is any wrist comms that would fit for it?
