Dude! Mark me as received! I got a set of petri dishes from Carpenter's The Thing! Blood samples from everyone, plus a blank one that will totally have my last name on it. The star here is clearly Palmer's reacting blood sample, which is just incredible. I unwrapped this part last by happenstance and was blown away. I actually giggled out loud in delight while reading the letter and unwrapping this. I already can't wait till next year!

Had an knock at the door this morning and was not expecting anything to be delivered today...

Now, usually, I somehow resist opening anything that could be from the RPF this time of year, but I had no idea why I had a parcel, so of course had to open it

Luckily there was a gift note inside from my secret santa:

I really enjoyed this film and have been eying up this book. It'll go great with my collection of other 'The Art of' books.

I've had a quick flick through (couldn't resist) but I'm going to sit down when I finish work for Christmas and read it all properly, but it's got some great art work inside and on the back:

You can mark me as received! I'm waiting to open it though, as opening it before I've sent my own gift feels like cheating. As for my gift, it's completed, and now I'm working out the best way to package it. After the gift I made last year was destroyed in the mail, I'm going to try to make sure the packing on this one is a little more robust. Should be sent within the next couple of days, and I will update when it is!
