It's a hard pass for me. The price point for a plastic battery only bluetooth speaker is an EASY pass.
At that price point I am positive a headless chicken was involved in determining what to price it at. GC

For that price they should build a SIRI or ALEXA with HAL´s voice inside this thing!

that is the holy grail. I tried using mycroft as the brains and vocal synthesis to emulate Douglas Rains, and after several years, I walked away in disgust. Maybe someone smarter than me can get an emulation of the voice, but until then, I'll just pop the DVD back on.

This is ridiculous!

If you consider how The Wand Company meticulously recreates the ST TOS Tricorder from an original with loads of functions for around 450$, this is just silly.

As said might only be worth it if it had something like Siri/Alexa in HALs voice in it (and even than I find it way overpriced).

TBH, the price is beyond totally out of proportion.

I remember picking up a Moebius kit 10 years ago for $39 (lightup & all), & using AP 333's Nikkor fish-eye lens print he so generously shared.

To be blunt, I see no difference between mine & this one.

The Moebius model kit is under the Christmas tree for my son right now. That and a cheap sound recorder/speaker preloaded with some dialogue. I’m satisfied at about $45 total. I can’t see paying an extra $1,250 or so, but everybody likes different stuff.

I just finished a Moebius HAL 9000 kit but modded with a Panasonic projector lens and brushed aluminum finished paper. The lens adds real depth to the red LED as opposed to the plastic piece provided in the kit. Plus the mat finish of the paper really looks like a nice 60’s finish. I tried to capture the illusion of depth to the red eye in the pics. I also mounted the name plate decal on a separate piece of plastic to make it stand out.
