1st step in new Bad Mother ******* Project (Update post 33)

Re: 1st step in new Bad Mother F&*%ing Project (Update post 33)

Episode 3, just because you can be the most accurate to that one, and that's what we're going for here

Complete accuracy has never been a deal breaker for me, so either version a-ok with me. To be honest, until today I didn't even realize there was a difference between the two.

They really are quite similar, I think. It's just where the buttons are positioned. It's really weird because one would assume that they must have been made on a CNC, so two different programming setups doesn't make a lot of sense. But the evidence seem to be there

Actually I’d be good for either one.

are you sure Sam Jackson owns an EP. 2 version? The set screw is on the side of the Ep. 2 version, but you can see it up front on the Ep. 3 version, lined up with the control buttons

Sorry, let me clarify. I think Jackson owns a multi-part chrome plated resin casting of the ep2 aluminum hero prop.
The set screw and covertec can be positioned in any number of ways due to the multi piece construction.
They made many different versions of each saber for ROTS.
The terms hero and stunt don't really explain the relationship.

The multi part construction really intrigues me. I always thought the last "built" and not sculpted sabers were in Ep. 1

After talking with Mike, I think we'll base the replica off of my ROTS stunt casting. The reason being is that this method gives me the best chance of achieving a 100% accurate replica of an original prop.

My plan going forward is to start modifying Mike's 3d model based on my rots casting and then send that material to him so that he can add the details that I am incapable of rendering due to my limited cad skills. He has mad cad skills. :)

Keep an eye on the thread for updates
