I've heard that Randy Cooper is working on a new spinner kit in the same scale as the old Anubis kit. I'd wait for that one!

Randy Cooper is doing a new one, it was put on hold while he helped with a short movie, but should be back on it.
As for the MIM kit , yes stay away from that one, I got one in a trade about 10yrs ago.
The size of the kit was impressive but i didnt like the detail being scribed in for the decals, there was warpage galore, and the figures didnt even look correct.

Well, seems kinda' obvious that UNLESS Anubis is
back in Business OR they sold their Patterns to someone
all that's going on here is it's a copy of the original Anubis kit !

They all but " say " that in the Ad.... :unsure

The gentleman who worked on the original kit is a member here. Am I getting the name right: Anibuspro? As he pointed out in another thread, that kit was built in a hurry and before all of the reference material came out. So for what the original sculptors had to work from, it was for it's time an awesome kit, in my opinion.

On the other hand, they are a good deal of work to build. I think the casting quality dropped off since MIM took over the production of the kit.

And as others have stated here, save yourself a world of hurt, avoid MIM and wait for Randy Cooper to finish his kit.

Just my .02 cents.

Ted.

Hey, It was nice for the day. Sold a crap load of them and with few complaints.
MIM did indeed purchase the patterns, and I think they might have "played" with it some too.

I have prodded Randy Cooper for years to re-make this kit, and he is finally doing it.
Definately would wait on that one if I were you.

Maybe MiM is only recasting 10%-15%, so it won't qualify as a recast :lol
(with sympathies to Randy re: Studio Scale Blockade Runner)
