1408 Dolphin Hotel Paper Props Thread!

5 Room Air BNB.... one is 1408 (with time set radio playing "It's only just begun") .... what should the other rooms be?

Other than room 237 of course.
My favorite is Room 10 from "The Lost Room". It is Room 10 in the Sunshine Motel, thus my Avatar at the left.

Great job man! Especially identifying that the the nightgown having the same pattern! Remarkable!

Guess we're all heading to Oasis' 1408 screening when he redecorates his home theatre or guest bedroom!
I did finally get around to painting the trim around my door. Lol

Found a very similar bottle (Blackwoods Gin) to the Hortus Gin one, however still think that RafalFett's first bottle (Queen Margot) is the closest in shape (bottle neck and "shoulders") to the original one (except for the lip and the screw on cap of course)
Anyway here is the final result (with the darkened cap).
For now I'm happy with it.
Again, thank you RafalFett for sharing your label

Here's another one (left side of the image):

And more of the bottles:

And the label (it should print at 90 x 65 mm):

I used info from actual labels and arranged it to look as close as possible to the ones used in the movie.

And finally, my replica:

Have fun.

Forgot to post some of my redone props.

I finally bought 2 A5 displays for the minibar menu and the phone list:

I also did the door number and the 14th floor rooms plaques from glossy golden dibond sheets cut to size, while the writings were cut from glossy black vinyl:

And thanks for another label, RafalFett.
Two questions regarding the bottle:
1- isn't it frosted glass?
2- your bottle narrows at the bottom. From the screenshot the original bottle does not seem to have that shape. Pls correct me if I'm wrong so I can start looking for (another) bottle

I adjusted the brightness of the previously posted screen shot.
You can see sides appear straight on the prop bottle.
As to Frosted, I would say no. The frosted look would likely be from the heat (or prop guy's interpretation of heat on objects)

-- revised opinion --- Yes, frosted.

The paper label would burn at 451 degrees. But it only takes 212 to boil water into steam. The wall and bottle appear to be experiencing high heat, despite not even being directly in the flame.

Indeed. That is a clearer picture of a non-clearer bottle. laugh 2.gif

I had never heard of a frosted bottled water, but then that would be because they don't likely exist.
A quick search of eBay turned up this, which looks similar to what they used. (use the title as search terms if looking for one)

Still working on my plaques. Guess next week it'll be finished.
Should I make 4 holes on the corners?

Yes. I'll add them too in the near future. The holes should be around 2-3 mm in diameter and the screw head around 5-6 mm.

And thanks for another label, RafalFett.

The bottle I used is an everyday one and is mainly for testing purposes (but also because it is harder and harder to find glass bottles these days); and I wanted to see if the label would fit properly. The reasoning for a 750ml bottle was the height difference between the bottle and the A5 minibar display:

When searching for a frosted bottle online, be sure to check to have the screw cap feature.

Concerning Driver's license: Is there no signature on the DL? As an European I'm not very familar with the DL's from the US, so I wonder that there are always DL's with and without signatures...
