Are you trying to get the Shetland tweed or the cashmere? The Shetland was something like 60 pounds per meter/$100. The Cashmere is the one that's $400 per.

I'd love the Shetland tweed! Has anyone been in contact with the company recently or would anyone know if this is still available?

But if isn't available anymore, I'm okay with the Harris tweed fabric as a back up.

I think they still have Shetland. They've reordered it a couple times. Send them an email and they'll give you a price quote.

How much Tweed do you think would be needed to be able to make a Jacket for CERTAIN, allowing for potential mis-cuts and such. I can't quite afford a Ricks jacket right now, but I could buy the tweed and keep it until I can afford getting it made. Just in case they might run out.

Depending on your size, you'll need at least two meters... two and a half to be safe.
