1/89 East India Trading Company Frigate (POTC)

Recently I decided to build my first wooden ship model... I've always been interested in 18th-19th Century naval warfare, so a frigate was a natural choice for me. I've never built any models before, aside from a few plastic kits as a kid, so I settled on a 1/89 scale model of the French Frigate Hermione by Artesania Latina. With next to no skill in woodwork, and even less of a clue on what I'm doing I've realized that I can't do justice to the historical French warship, so I elected to build her as an East India Trading Company frigate loosely inspired by the British vessels from Pirates of the Caribbean. This will include slight modification of her lines (fortunately the real-life Company bought/captured many vessels from the French, so this is an easy transition) as well as East India personnel figures/flags/markings, etc.

I'm going to post my build log on here and on modelshipworld.com as a little self encouragement. Any advice/critques are more than welcome. Progress pictures will start showing up early next week as I finish planking the hull.
