1/6 Kaiyodo/Screamin' Boba Fett

I may need to look into that.

Been using automotive primer cause it is sandable. Dupli-Color to be more specific.

The black which I have no idea how long I have had just will not dry. It always feels tacky and the white I have, which is newer, dries much better but still feels a little bit tacky.

Ive used Model master enamals on all my vinyl kits, except repainting the polydata ones, and never had a problem. I don't know how well that Boba would take the automotive stuff.

I will be looking at primers tomorrow.

I could be wrong but I have a feeling maybe the one I have been testing with is bad.

Thinking about trying Krylon Fusion for Plastic primer since I can pick that up locally.

Anyone here used that primer with success on vinyl models?

I was looking at Krylon today and it says it cannot be sanded after applied. Whats up with that?

When I first started painting, I didn't prime some of my vinyl models. They still have paint on them. The important thing is to WASH them thoroughly to get any mold release off of them. If you prime, and I probably would today, you only have to MIST the primer on. Don't coat it. I would bet that a light mist from duplicolor would do the trick.

Any primer can be sanded. But test it first, use some of the flash that you trimmed from the parts, to make sure it will bond.

If you have trouble with the primer try Duplicolor vinyl paint as a primer, it's made to bond to vinyl car interior trim Buy Duplicolor Vinyl and Fabric Coating, Medium Gray, 11 oz. Aerosol HVP109 at Advance Auto Parts

Ive never finished my screamin fett Ive never been happy with my color choices. I've pimered it and stripped it at least 3 times, and each time primered in krylon gray. It will stick but definetely scrub him down first.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!!

Really appreciate it as I want to continue forward on this model.

I'll check out those brands tomorrow and hopefully will find something that will work.

Found some primer I feel I will be happy with.

Doing some testing on it tonight and if all goes well I will be primering tomorrow.

Pics this weekend if all goes well.

Maybe for future projects you might try "Tamiya Fine primer" the stuff is great, it's a little pricey like $9 a can but the finish it leaves is worth it and it kind of smells good also Lol :wacko < sniffed to many fumes.

Thanks for the suggestion Ray22!

I will look into that.

I just mainly wanted to get something locally so I could continue on my build.

Here,s a video I did of working on Boba :)

Pardon my language I can be bit of a potty mouth and I apologize for that.

I did settle on using super glue since that seem to finally work unlike the epoxy, but I am not using insta-set do to the fact I cannot find that anywhere locally here.
