1/350 TOS E is happening.

As the old AMT box art challenged........
Who will be first to build the entire fleet?

You going to suppliment my bank account? ;)

Actually, I am considering building the whole fleet with 18" kits (or at least the ships we either saw or heard about in TOS). This would include all the appropriate methods of destruction or damage each ship sustained. Constellation is almost done. Defiant just needs a decision about if I will paint it before giving it the glow in the dark "interphase" treatment or just apply decals to the glow in the dark plastic. So that leaves Intrepid (probably a crumpled ball of foil with a layer of slime on it to indicate it got eaten by a space amoeba), Exeter (bio-hazard warning stickers on the saucer), the Excalibur (totally trashed like Constellation) and the other three ships from "The Ultimate Computer" among others. :D

Yes!! You should!!

You're absolutely right! I'm going out to the garage and digging everything out. The new inner nacelle detail got shipped from the laser cutter today, I've got JT's decals, I've been working on the electronics forever..... I can take a break from the 50" Refit every once in awhile...... Right? Plus I've got a cool base, brass patterns.... Why not show it off on a forum where people respect that kind of thing instead of trying to censor you..... Right? :lol

I have some too. It's the green stuff you can find at Halloween stores. It's water based so could be thinnned and sairbrushed I suppose.

Actually, the stuff I am thinking about getting is THIS:

Glow in the Dark

They make a variety of paints and glow powders that can be mixed with paints. I don't have the stuff yet, but a couple youtube videos I've seen showing the glow powders make them seem to be MUCH brigher than your typical glow paint. I have a can of Krylon glow paint as well and I tried a test treatment on a scrapped section of an old 18" saucer. It kind of has potential, but it has to be laid on a bit thick to work and I don't like the appearance of the surface over paint and decals. Plus, it still didn't glow with quite the same intensity as the raw glow in the dark plastic from the 18" Tholian Web edition Enterprise kit.

BTW, we can discuss this further in a different thread. I don't necessarily want to hijack this one too much. In my case, now that I have a little spending money from Christmas, I think I'll go ahead and order some glow powders this coming week. I haven't quite decided though if I want to go with the green glow from Trek remastered, or the bluish glow from the original effects shots. I may just end up ordering both and deciding when I get them.

Yup, saw that. And I'm kind of chomping at the bit to get to Wonderfest to have a chance at getting a test shot 1/350 E now (and if I win it, I am going to BUILD IT and then do the classic William Shatner pose where he is holding the 33" studio model). ;)

Jay based on your work and enthusiasm, I can think of no one else that could do that first test shot justice like yourself!

Got to see the model in person at C2E2 this weekend, Looks great! There is even a tiny little Bridge to it. I will put some pics up later tonight or tomorrow. The gentlemen working the booth told me it would be released in October :D

sorry for the quality of the pics they were taken with my Cell. I talked to the Round 2 guy more on Sunday and he said the kit will retail for about $125 and they will be offering a full lighting kit for about $75.

Looks like a mini me version of my Big E. and that's because they worked with Gary. Got my red putty ready to fill those wasted scribes in! ;)
