1/350 E nterprise refit questions

I've been working on the Polar Lights 1/350 refit for a few years now, and finally got to applying the aztec to the top saucer. I worked on the inner ring this weekend, and am not happy with how it turned out. As you can see, the colors are a bit too bright and there are scratches from removing the vinyl masks.
The question i have is, without painting over this is there a way to tone down the color of these prismatic paints? I sanded them a bit with 1500 paper and it helped, but they still don't match the images from the paint guide. Any tips would be appreciated! Even to tell me I'm being too perfectionistic.
The first image is mine second from the guide.

I know you don't want to paint over it, but does that include misting? It would help tone things down a bit.

IMO, as a perfectionist myself, you're probably being overly critical and a perfectionist.

Also, nice paint job!

Its beautiful!! The brightness is right-on because with all the clear coats etc. you will be putting on it it will dull out but I find the saving grace if you really want to tone it down a bit, use a coat of translucent micro-pearl paint. It will tone it down and strill keep the pearl finish. I had a similar problem but it dulled out after I did this
