1/350 TOS E is happening.

Is everyone paying $149.99 for the kit? I thought they were going to be around $125?

No price was ever stated for the 1701 club version when I signed up for it, but we all figured it would be about 150 or so. The standard kit retail price is about $165, so places that are offering pre-sales on it are doing so for about 25% off (which is likely what most outlets will charge). Of course, there is shipping extra on top of that as well (the club kits have free shipping, so the price evens out pretty nicely all things considered).

The 1701 club kit only includes the pilot parts as extras on top of the standard stuff.

No i don't think there are any photoetch parts included just the extra parts for the pilots.

Thanks Jason. Looks like there will be a few options out here for photoetch so i am going to hold off and see what pops up. Same with lighting.

Separate orders, yeah.

I want to build a Pilot Tug. LOL.

$200 is a steal in my opinion. I paid Jim Key $1,400 for two Enterprise kits (pilot and production versions) in 1:300 scale about 6 years ago, and they never shipped/were cancelled.... so this price and in easy-to-use styrene? BARGAIN OF THE CENTURY!!

No the price for the premiere edition has always been $149.99, which if you think about it; is a deal because you get the supplemental parts pack with it for makinig the 1st and 2nd pilot versions. They have the pre-order SRP for the Standard Edition is $139.99 so it's only 10 bucks more.

Registry decals - are for name designations other than Enterprise. Kit comes with decals for Enterprise.

Weathering decals - are just that, weathering streaks (if you can't do it with airbrush). I can't imagine covering the thing with decals just for weathering.

Supplemental parts pack - is just to make the model one of the two pilot versions. No need to order if you buy the Premier edition as it comes with.

Photo etch - is just to enhance certain details inside and out.

Lighting kit - just that.

Accessory pack - lighting kit plus photo etch for sure. Not sure what else. It may contain the registry decals or weathering decals. Don't think it contains the supplemental parts pack. Not totally clear on this one.

Well I ordered the lighting kit sight unseen as far as how the nacelle effect will look. Hope it's good.

Mine was #252 with the order placed about 10 minutes after I got the mail. Although I have to wonder if the 200 plus order numbers are due to other orders being taken on the same day for other stuff or if 200 people really did get an order in right away.

Same here.
I saw the email the minute it popped up and has it ordered within 10 minutes.

Thanks for the parts link Jason.:thumbsup

Paragrafix DOT biz has a PE set that is a compliment to the PL. I just preordered it. It has some cool window "shadows" of people on transparency, some bridge control panel decals and PE for both pilots and regular.

EDIT, just got an email from Paragrafix, looks like they will be packaged and ready for shipping wednesday..ish!!

Even has this

We need to start a resource thread since this one is really for the kit release.

Yeah, and the PE will match well since Paulbo did the design for the R2 PE also. I am going to eventually get all of it. It'll be my first use of PE in a kit so I hope I can do it justice.

As for the Accessory kit, it has the lights, PE, and the weathering decals. Which is a pretty good price considering all three separately would cost over 200 bucks.

My kit's on order! Number 329 (was out doing errands when the email came in - RRRrrr). This one will be built straight, but the test shot I got to design the R2 (and my) PE set has a special destiny :love

Actually, the R2 set only includes exterior details - the grills for the warp nacelles and pylons. (Plus some signage.)

Just for info for us dummies here.......I have no idea where any of these graphics would go on the Enterprise model or what "PE" and "PL" means. Could you guys speak in plain english for the uninformed here.

PE = photo etched
PL = polar lights

as for the place ment of the items....your guess is as good as mine :)

Thanks......now some of this makes sense even though I still don't see where any of these graphics would be placed on the model. I do recognized Nomad now that someone has mentioned it.
