1:1 Scale Snowspeeder (T-47 Airspeeder) build.

Looks great. Where is this exhibition at?
Also, what's the proper way of getting into it so you don't break anything under foot? Just anywhere up the wings, or is there's specific spots to step?
Hey, thanks. The display was at a convention called Supanova in Sydney, Australia.

Getting in for the pilot is not too bad. Walk along the bulkhead (Below) which has the landing skid directly below it. The step down into it does stretch the muscles a bit. For the copilot, they have to get in first. If the canopy raised to 90 degrees it would be easier. This is where that hinge design is great because it allows more space to get into it.

Ultimately, its not easy. Thats probably why there are only two quick shots where pilots "jump" into the cockpit but i believe this is because it was so difficult getting into the things. I recall the Director saying these scenes were not working very well and they just shot lots of coverage and had lots of cuts. Makes sense.

Sounds like someone needs a bigger place. If you bought some property you could build the Hoth set to store your snowspeeder! Of course you'd need to build an X-wing and a Millennium Falcon. It's amazing how quickly these ideas get out of hand...

Do you live somewhere that gets snow? You have to get some photos in the snow this winter...
Haha. key words "It's amazing how quickly these ideas get out of hand..."
Nowhere near snow, but that would be a lot of fun though!

I have worked for Lucasfilm for decades and it's safe to say that to be blown away after all these years is very, very hard but blown away I was last weekend in Sydney. This build is astonishing not only in its overall presentation but in its impeccable attention to detail, paint finish and in its construction. It was an honour and a privilege to have met MrV and to see this in person.

Congratulations again mate, its simply astonishing

Highest regards,
MARK

Thanks Mark! Very kind and generous words, I am humbled. Was great to meet and chat. I hope to have a few tricks installed for next time.

OK, I was zooming in and out, in and out, checking all the progress since the last cockpit instrument progress pictures and I see the completed canteens..... I just need to say I hold onto the canteen portion of this project as my way to brag to my wife that I ...... helped.... lol. But the bragging will continue as I force everyone I talk to, to see this cool speeder.

Open for business! An aviation museum in Australia has been happy for me to display the ship over the holidays. At least it will be enjoyed more people than sitting in my garage. Merry Christmas everybody, stay safe and be kind.

I guess this means you can get to that mountain bike again.

But in all seriousness, this is going to be their star attraction.
