1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Beauty SofaKing, beauty! Love the dedication to such project for sure:cool

Hey J,

Thanks so much! I never realized what a monumental project this would become. I think "committed" is more the word I would go for at this point! ;)

Liking them small lamps, the fresnel look is a great old'skool effect.

Hey W,

They really are a thing of beauty! They are exactly what we've been looking for. Fingers crossed!

man, i was going through this project (for the million-th time) and looking at all the original console stuff you had done. It is amazing to see the changes and progress you have made over such a long period of time. Its just staggering what you and the team have done. The new console is so cool; its just tight you know, all the angles and curvature to that thing is just AWESOME. I can't say it enough man, what dedication and perfection to the build!

Thank you, my friend! Very kind words indeed. I am so thankful and lucky to be surrounded by such a talented group if insane folks! The laser cutter, CNC and 3D printers changed everything! They allow us to fabricate almost everything we see. The second console was a total collaborative effort - Stinson, Maruska and Philip all did amazing work on getting those files CNC ready. And Philip taking the time to stand by the CNC... a HUGE thanks to him. That's one of the reasons I'm taking my time on the console - I want to make sure I do everything right this time around.

Thanks again! :)

Excellent idea! They do have that Volvo look to them.

I did some quick poking around and I found some VERY close examples but nothing specific. If it is a headlamp housing its DEF the rectangular lens. The file I created will be laser cut in a few days, so at the very least we'll have those to work with. But I would much rather prefer the real thing.

OK, Wavey... go forth and do great things! ;)

So apparently the new Episode VII trailer coming out on the 16th has a short cockpit scene :)

I'm taking the day off and going to see A2:AoU just for the trailer!

I've followed this thread for about a year and a half - absolutely love it. Totally inspirational!!!

I hope you guys can bring this to the UK for a Con in the future, or maybe 'Celebration Europe' whenever, where ever that may be.

I"m hoping Disney open up a studio tour in the UK (Pinewood) once all the new movies are done - might get to see the real thing then ;)

Hi Gang,

It's been a rough week so it's time to focus and get back to work! You all know me enough by now that when it comes to the build... I will not settle. I am redesigning both back wall panels to match the original ESB version to further compliment the two smaller panels I just redesigned. BUT... I'm saving the panels and I'm going to turn them into wall pieces...

Out with the old

It's a shame to have to go through ALL this work but I think it will be worth the effort

Hi Gang,

Well... It was a LONG weekend of continued renovation of friends house and garage cleaning... but we do have some forward progress.

Both of the back wall panels have carefully been removed and the frames are waiting for a new suit

What a difference between ANH and ESB - these panels have so few LEDs (but lots of greeblies)

Stay Tuned!

Ah those ANH style panels would look great above some vintage 70's Bang & Olufsen music centre gear. Just reminiscing.

Hmm, that box of greeblies has a certain familiarity to it. Like i've seen something similar a few scrolls earlier.

Looking great, as always, Greg

Thank you, my friend!

Jessie has been busy busy! The poor girl. I just forwarded another round of PDFs to her for cutting (should have those this evening). Since joining the team she's aged horribly. I suggested she take up smoking to help balance everything out.

;)
