Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Got a bit of extra theory to add to that greeb hunt, the whole greeb plus its frame looks like it fits into the cut out section of this large circuitboard on the wall. There's several of these large boards around, in the medical bay, etc-etc, so would account for the number of greeblie parts.

In this scene the circuit boards start off partially covered up, then uncovered, then covered again - lol!

I've not had much chance to search since Xmas, grrr, but slowly getting back in to the swing of things.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

If I'm not mistaken... I believe those silver pieces are part of the bottom of a automobile's transmission.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

I like how they covered the middle part with either duct tape or that silver tape. :lol

There's a bit of an 'oops' moment there for sure, probably in the editing department lol. Check out that old board's soldering - must be worth its weight in tin nowadays.

Could have something to do with CRT screens.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

Need some advice... When I skinned the main side wall on Chewie's side, the panel shifted leaving a 1-2 inch gap at the top. All the dimensions and angles are now off. Unless there is a fix... I'm going to have to rebuild the side wall. UGH...

Any ideas? If I do rebuild it. I'm going to use 2x4s from now on...

EDIT: I might go and get a single 1/4 or 1/2 4x8 sheet of ply wood and start from there. If I cut that shape, then I'm certain the frame won't flex or shift. :)

Awesome build and just so much fun to see your updates.
Just rep-pointed you btw...something I guess I should be doing more often. :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi D,

Thanks much! I really appreciate the kind words. Lots more to come once I get passed this latest hurdle

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

Went to the local home improvement store yesterday and bought the necessary wood (4x8 ply) to build the two new side walls. After that frustrating realization that walls didn't fit, I just didn't feel like building so I took a day off...

I wonder if there was too much glare so they covered all the shiny bits?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

awesome, that's a much clearer view of those levers too. Hopefully they can get identified.

slightly off topic: I just discovered something last night watching Red Dwarf... at least one of the original Nav Chairs somehow ended up in the Starbug cockpit for a brief time.

(you can see it from 2:30 onward)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

I'm wondering if that entire bulky assembly was used or just the lever and base. Cool find on the chair!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Nice! I think you may have something there. I'll try to find the photo I used to reference my box levers, its a behind the scenes shot with Lando in it, somewhere on my cockpit thread.
