Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

ANOTHER DESIGN OPTION

I can cut a hole into the console and basically "screw" in to place

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Cut holes in the quad back panel and placed simple PCV connectors for the heater hoses

This piece is NOT going to be easy... considering I have to make 8

More to Come

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Details on the cannon all dried and ready for sanding

Still too early to fire up any power tools so I added some detail to the quad back panel

Lots of panels waiting to be put back together

I think the thinner end barrels look much better. Once I get the end cap on - everything will begin to fall into place. :) OK... Off the work...

UPDATES!

I was able to create a first "test" quadlaser tip... I'm not too thrilled with it. But see below...

I might try building it in fiberglass. I have better glassing experience than I do wood...

BUT... the heat beat me again... More tomorrow

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

You're a brave man to work in this heat (it's no picnic up here in philly, so I can't imagine what it must be like down where you are). These are looking great, I especially like the grating in the back.
Keep it up, as always.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hey S,

The humidity was terrible yesterday.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm nearing that "wall" again where it seems like nothing is getting done. The basic shapes are easy, it's the details that seem to prolong the build.

I'm not thrilled with the cannon tip at all. If anybody has ANY ideas what they might be or the best way to build it, please let me know. :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

OK Gang,

Which console "lever" do you prefer? Left or Right?

IMAG0031-1.jpg

I like the bulk of the "Left" lever, but I also like the mounting simplicity / rigidity of the "Right" lever.

Opinions?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Like them both..is one slightly more screen accurate than the other? If so..go with that one...:love

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

wow, you go on vacation around here and things just get out of control!!!!!! Great progress man, the detail is looking fantastic.

My vote on the lever is left. it's harder to identify the parts, so it feels better. However, I agree with kysupernatural, which ever is the more screen accurate would be my choice.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

I vote right.

I agree... Just a quick build during lunch. I'm fortunate to work from home today.

Cut the hole(s) in the console

PERFECT FIT

Cut the second hole... I think they work!

So much detail and work goes into this it's mind boggling. This is getting better and better by the post :thumbsup

Awesome work :love

Hi K,

Unfortunately, there are NO clear screen shots of these two levers. Although I liked the one on the left, I liked the bulkiness, the right was easier to mount. And with my desire to have as much interaction as possible, I decided to go with the right side.

I'll add a little more bulk to it. :)
