1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

This would be a lot of work if you only did it at one scale!

Where are you moving? Different town, or just different house?

Hey LtW,

Actually, I think it would be a lot less work if I stayed at one scale... ;) The 1/12th was just a test to see if the console could be done. I have a LOT of work ahead of me. I have to finalize the 1/4 scale cockpit in prep for a possible kit. I then take that and scale everything down to 1/6th. Then, if there is ANY demand, take the 1/6th and scale down again to 1/12th... Whew... too much math this early in the morning.

I'm staying in the immediate area. I'm just looking to downsize and lower the monthly payment.

SofaKing01,

Two quick questions, Sofa... a). Where are you moving to, and b). Is the full-scale cockpit permanently based in Texas now, or will it eventually come back to you?

Hey T,

I'm not moving out of state. Just looking to downsize and staying in the immediate area from where I am now.

The cockpit is "temp" living in Dallas. For the next year or so it will be going on tour / conventions. Texas has several large conventions that we want to take advantage of before venturing out to other parts of the country. We are hoping to go to SW Celebration in April but we know that larger props have been significantly scaled back. After a few years the cockpit might come back to Alabama. But not to worry! I'll be building a second cockpit that is even more screen accurate, have better mobility and even more modular than the current cockpit. And if I have the room... I'll be adding more of the full scale corridor!

And yes... I'll be posting more images and vids of Ver 2! :)

Wow, have fun with that! You're crankin' them out like a machine! You really need to apply with Lucasfilm as one of their ship builders.

Hey Gang,

I'm having a REALLY TOUGH time balancing between posting images and posting videos. Naturally the images are posted long before the videos so you all get to see what I've been working on before the video is even started. I have to find the right balance between video and images. I dont want one to suffer more than the other. If that makes sense?

If anybody has any ideas PLEASE let me know. :)

Part III Coming!

Looks great your doing brilliant with that smaller scale falcon cockpit great skills dude. I would love a millennium falcon full scale cockpit in my garden but I will need to get myself a 3D printer and some more tools first and make it easier on myself. Plus I would likely need some help to make it I might give it a go in a couple of years.
