1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

heres a photo i think you might like.

Hi DSH,

Thanks for the great pic! I have several similar reference photos I've collected that I'll be using when I begin building the 2nd console. I would really like to create the ESB / RotJ version. The differences are incredible! :)

Thanks again!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hey Gang...

Had these two fishing reel pieces sitting around and thought they might work on the throttle... what do you guys think?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

GANG...

Does ANYBODY have 4 metal C3PO knee pistons they are willing to sell?

If so... PLEASE contact me! :)

Thanks

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

The throttle housing for the next console will utilize these for the actual throttles. I still need one more. I'm also working on the final design for the "Vickers Vents".

Hi Gang,

Thought I would see how the console looked "if" it were illuminated... I digitally added the lights (TOO BAD, HUH?) :)

This whole project looks really great! A stupendous job!

I've been following the thread for a while and finally had to chime in. Those tall bits there - those are called SNB's, Thru Bolts, or to most of us who've been in the commercial door industry for a while, Sex Bolts. I believe theose are 425's if I am not mistaken. Threaded for 10-24?

I love finding commercial door hardware used creatively! Bravo, extra from me.

I might be able to donate some some interesting bits. Drop me a PM with your address and I'll put together a care package.

This has to be one of the most impressive builds that I have ever seen on this forum. Where are you going to put it once you finish it? Keep the pictures coming. :)

Hi Sulla/Andy,

Thank you so much for the kind words! I received a box full of commercial door hardware a few weeks back. Most of it pretty useless but I was able to find a great use for the sex bolts. Do you know what the items are called that I'm using for the throttles? I need one more! :)

Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Hi IzzyMel,

WOW! Thank you for the very kind words. :) What am I going to do with this console? I'm not quite sure yet. The Huntsville Space & Rocket Center is just a few miles down the road... I was thinking of loaning it to them to place next to their Darth Vader. Of course it would seem a little naked without a backdrop... that's all I'm saying about that! ;)

BUT... the second and fully illuminated console will go to Chris Lee and his Full Scale MF Build! As you know, I'm almost finished with the one of the quad lasers - once that's done... the second one will be built. So, when the time is right, everything will be shipped to Tennessee for paint and prep and then final placement. Check out his website here. :)

The Full Scale Millennium Falcon Project | Don't worry, she'll hold together…

I'll continue posting images to the RPF, but I'll be posting more detailed images to Chris' website as the second console gets underway.

Thanks again for the kind words and as always... Stay Tuned!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

Just got through chatting with Steve Starkiller and I'm planning on adding something ALL around the console... You know... I look at the console sitting all by itself and it just seems so lonely... :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

It is SUCH a beautiful day! Low temps and low humidity! I'm going to take full advantage of this weekend! :)

I think I got the last of the pinstriping done on the console...
