1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

SK1, th' console looks great brah th' quad is lookin' up as well. Lately we have been havin' a dry heat here in th' wheat fields in Dorothy land.:cool:cool

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

You're absolutely correct. However, switches are very expensive - 5 dollars a piece. So... With 20 switches, it doesn't make sense to pay 200+ dollars on a static console.

Plus, these switches will be transfered to console #2... I'll have to find something comparable.

Good eye!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

Since I'm SO close to finishing the first console I decided to hold off on the second and get the throttles finished - the best I can.

Went to the home inprovement store to find parts to create the throttles

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Bad news and Good news...

While i was drilling the hole in the second piston it cracked and split in two... I was SO close to finishing that part of the build... GRRRR

Waiting for glue to dry so I can carry on...

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Well... the crack is too severe and wont hold up to any real pressure... GRRR I'm going to look around to see if a local machine shop and create the pistons for me cheap...

After a LOT of sanding

Amazing how one little element such as the throttle pistons can make ALL the difference in the world! :)

Spectacular man, very cool indeed!

Thank you, my friend! The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and brighter... I really hope it's not a train! :)

Closer and closer... Nice one buddy! Looks amazing

Hi Rys,

Thank you very much! :) Hope you guys are staying nice and cool? I'd rather have a dry heat or hazy, hot and stupid ANYDAY!!! I wish Canada would get with it and send us some of their cooler air!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang...

I'm a bit burnt out on building a whole new console so I've decided to take things in a NEW yet familiar direction... I've just secured the plans and dimensions from Steve Starkiller and building will begin ASAP!!! What is it? Let's just say the console will now have a "roof" and "walls" for added security!!! :)

Stay Tuned!!!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Sleepalot,

It's funny... I'm torn between two thoughts... Am I motivated to work on these projects because they are fun to build and I am having such a blast building them or am I filling some of the time to help forget about an "Ex GF"... I think it's a combination of the two. Oh well... either way... I really do appreciate the kind words. :) As I mentioneda above, I've been tinkering with another idea for the quad base. While the PVC mount leans toward the original design, I might change the mounts... stay tuned... Thanks again!

Thank you! That motivates me even more!

I hear you there man. The women can really do ya in. Great way to keep busy and a good productive one at that :D. Don't know how many times I can say it but I'm still looking forward to the extent of the finished product lol. This is more exciting than watching someone paint the Mona Lisa lol

You could recreate them by stacking washers and spacers and such, then bondo the seams, like my old X-Wing arm tool tutorial:

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Here are the dome lights I made using resin copies of the door stopper and glass domes from Amazon.com. I used stained glass spray paint to color the underside.
