That is a seriously nice piece of prop magic. It's been a year since I last saw what you were attempting. This blows me away.

Hi TX,

Thanks so much! A lot has changed in the last year! :)

I noticed you commented on a few other MF Cockpit related threads. Those were done before the project really took off. Over time those threads morphed into what you're seeing now. When I first started the build I was going to simply build the center console and hand it off to Chris Lee, our project lead, and go about my merry way. As time went by and I got more involved and more excited about the project the console grew into what you see now. So, the "portable" cockpit is exactly what we have now. We're heading for Star Wars Celebration in April so things are going to get insane VERY soon!

Thanks again for the kind words and stay tuned for much more fun!

Fellow RPFer Wavey was able to grab hold of the 3 Way Tube Clamps and send me a set! Another HUGE Thank You to Wavey!

The tube clamps were located throughout the SW world. They were located on the center console levers, Hoth chairs, AT-AT pilot/co-pilot controls and in other various places!

It's such a AWESOME feeling finding and then actually holding the original parts the original designers used way back when! :)

Hi Gang,

A VERY busy Non-MF weekend - but a great weekend just the same!

A few more early morning greeblie pics showing off the new tube clamp handles!

The original base the handle and lever are attached to is actually a very odd rectangular greeblie with rounded edges. It almost looks like some of connector lid/top. It's a very odd shape - but isn't that what the designers had in mind? ;)

Hey W,

Thank you again foir sending those out! They are so awesome! It's funny... how can something as simple as a tube clamp bring me such happiness? ;) The quad tips are next. I'm going to let the electronics goobers look at them before we splice them together.

Thanks again for the VERY generous gift!

Hi R,

Welcome to the party! :) Right now the cockpit sits in the garage in Huntsville, AL. She's in pieces right now but we're aching to get her back together in prep for lighting, skin, etc... Thanks for the kind words. Stay tuned for more fun!

AL huh? Not too far from Illinois. I've always wanted to see Alabama, now I have a reason to! Keep up the good work guys, this is epic and I'm very jealous. I wanted to turn my movie room / family room in like Palpatines office or the Jedi Council Chamber and get the Courscant skyline printed onto wallpaper, so that when you were down there it felt like a completely different world. Once the build is done you'll have to get some projectors and screens and set them on the outside facing in, or turn the windows into monitors so you can simulate hyperspace or a space battle. Then charge admission!

Hey, guys!

I liked all your guesses ;)

Not much work has been done on it since then, but I will be starting back on it pretty soon. Here's some images of the box on a panel from the falcon. Still not going to say what it is, but maybe this will help you get a better idea... maybe :)
