1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

I'm wondering if there might be two ramps, the one connected to the interior Falcon set (the one you don't see much of beyond the airlock door from the inside looking out ~ the one seen here), and a dirtier version, connected to the outer shell of the ship (where we usually see the characters start running up the ramp from the bottom).

Too many odd pipe fittings jutting down along the sides for this to be the outer shell prop of the ship.

EDIT: Now someone is claiming (on another site) that this shot is a fake. lol. Well whatever... Looks real to me, and I've never seen it before.

EDIT 2: Will need updates soon. This whole Harrison Ford thing is getting me down, big time. LOL

Hi Gang,

Not the greatest updates in the world... but updates just the same, right? :)

Hi Gang,

Knowing I can't leave well enough alone... I have a question. As most of you know we made the dark grey color of the console much darker when we mod'd and added all the lights and sounds. Does it make sense to strip ALL the cockpit panels (pinstripes and all), continue drilling and adding the LED holes and then repaint using the darker color? I really like the darker color and I think it's a good direction to take...

BUT is it worth it? That's an awful lot of extra work... Ideas and Opinions NEEDED! :)

Is the darker color closer to screen accurate? TBH I don't think I would (but I would never have gotten this far anyway! :lol ) ,unless you think it'll bug you afterward...;)
Someday I'm going to make to a show where you guys are set up, after following this since you started in the garage I fell like I need to see it in person. :D Keep up the awesome work! :cool:thumbsup

In the words of the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi, "You must do what you feel is right, of course". :D Gee, that would be a lot of work, but if you feel it would be the right way to go, then go for it. I'm fine either way with the colors. The only concern / nit-pic I had (and we discussed long ago) was that maybe you should look into getting some tiles that diffuse the light a bit better, in order to light up each square in a more squarish fashion, but I still love the tiles being lit either way. It's simply up to you if you care to really "mess with that" (or the darker paint) or not. I'm OK with it all, no matter what you decide.

Don't worry if an update isn't big, it's alright to be lazy or busy every once in a while.

Is it worth it to change the color? Hard to say as it will take a lot of hard work of course and I think it looks good with the current color, but again, hard to say - I would say hold it for now.

Ataru72ita above here has got a point by the way ;)

Re: the Colour change:

While painting it would be a chore, it would also give you a chance to test out vinyl stickers for the pinstripes. That way you can get those down before you start on the next cockpit/console

Hey Guys,

I really appreciate the comments... And I think most of you know what I'm going to do... :) With that being said... Many of you may know that there are two rows of lights bars in the cockpit. I removed the lower bars (and the shelf) since I removed 12" off the lower panels so it would fit in the garage. Now that I'm going to add the 12" and the extra row of light bars, and the addition of the 1800+ LEDs, I feel the panels would be lost with ALL the light... So...

I am striping the darker panels clean and repainting them... I'm convinced now this is what the original designers used. I've seen a few pre-production images of the panels and they appear to be... Black. I HOPE! ;)
