The Definitive Hawkeye "Avengers" Costume Thread

I hope your right and these are production.
After eight months of looking for a TFA buckle, I think metal side release buckles with a center protrusion are just as impossible to find as cotton french blue herring bone twill fabric.

I've googled about every combination of words I can come up with for those side release buckles. I don't think they are custom made either. However, they are impossible to find.

Totally agree guys, I've looked high and low for 6 months and still no joy. But I can't see two distinct production properties using the exact same buckle and add to that same said buckle is reproduced in a smaller version and them not being commerically available. Not saying stranger things haven't happened in regards to props/costumes but I just can't see it. Plus the fact that these look to be real working buckles, I just can't see them being completely fabricated.

Great pics. It is clear the Hawkeye buckle is functional while the TFA C.A. belt buckle is not.
Then I look at the TFA C.A. gloves and there are the same buckles, yet smaller, that we need for Hawkeye's belt and the two on his chest.

I can get metal buckles that are close.... just not with that center detail.
Metal Side Release Buckles

So much for thinking Hawkeye would be easier than C.A.

Great Work! Thanks Moviebuff5. You've earned a Don Cherry. :thumbsup

Now we have to find a place that sells them individually and not in bulk.

Darn close but not sure if those are 100%, they look to be too oval across the mainbody and there looks to be a couple of round details near the base of the male end. Definitely closer than anything we've found to date though, good find!

Fandu seems to make a variant, but it has those round details as well. I think they are pins to hold the webbing loops to the buckle. All of them seem to have the detail designed to go the the back rather than the front.

Also, I am noticing the side releases look closer to Captain America than Hawkeye.
Is anyone else noticing a lack of depth on the Hawkeye side releases? I could understand it in one picture, but all three?

Is it possible they were made by the costuming department? The Cap belt buckle was static and non functional. Could they have made something to keep with the look?

I'm thinking about just butchering a couple of side release buckles and seeing if I can make it.

Well I finally got around to taking photos of my Avengers Hawkeye costume that I got from Cosplaysky. Like Jedimika said one of the major problems with this costume is the belt is not adjustable. I simply replaced the webbing that they supplied and made a new belt using the original buckle but adding a tri glide to adjust the belt accordingly. Its pleather and doesnt breathe, but for my purposes now it works and the fit is great.

One other mod I had to do was to attach the shield patch since it did not come with one.

Here are the pics

The boots are just my Magnum boots. Im using the bieter soft arm guards.

I borrowed Blackwoods ballcap idea because Im as bald as George Coztanza.

Also forgot to add, there's a 20min YouTube video that shows renner blocking scenes without the vest, but with what looks like a regular sleeveless compression shirt on. Some pics that I've been collecting;

It's a bit late but the marital that you wanted was carbon fibre cloth!:)

Fly4v, may I quote this on my costuming Facebook page? Because I think it's such a perfect illustration of what we crazy costumers do. :)

@predpaul: Those should look neat! As far as size, can you calculate it based on the diameter of the arrow shaft you're using? I think Hawkeye's are aluminum (going strictly on memory here; don't have references in front of me), and those come in standard sizes.

C'mon, people!! There's a viagra commercial playing behind a man raising his taut bow as he is about to shoot an arrow and not a single joke in sight.

Very dissapointed in the RPF right now.

:)

Well out of respect to Tibberton for helping me finding my bow I was just looking at the costume. Now I see it though and I would have to say... watch where you are pointing that thing, you could have someones eye out with that. :love

@ AVA I could but unfortunately I only have the bow and the model is in my 3d program. I could just chance it or search online for arrow diameters etc. Thanks for the tip (pun intended) :lol
