Avengers: Age of Ultron (Pre-release)

He's already confirmed, so what does that have to do with anything?

It refers and is connected to the couple posts from the previous page. Since some people don't want to see him there, i stated i want to see him there.

What's confirmed/unconfirmed has nothing to do with it.

Because fan boys.

Yes, i met him on multiple occasions, i am a fan and friend.

No shame in that, he is a great actor and a great person. His wife, Susan, is also an amazing person.

For those of you that saw Avengers: Next (Or Next Avengers... Whatevs) It took place in the Ultropolypse, when Iron Man escaped Ultrons wrath with all the the Avengers children and raised them. In that, even though there was a Pym, they had Iron man as the father of Ultron. It tested well will fans, so I'm sure it won't be an issue.

Be interesting to see what happens if SHIELD tinkers around with some Hammertech, the Destroyer, and some automated stark armors.... clink blam oops Killer Robot.

My guess is that it's going to be tied to Jarvis. Nobody has ever made a big deal that Stark made an actual functional AI.

But my question is: Now that they are going to take away one of the few things that Pym is actually known for, what are they going to have him do?

Early prediction, they are building up Thanos, with the thought process of a possible Avengers/GotG crossover.

I was thinking that the AI would be a corrupted Jarvis when I heard the news.

And did Whedon confirm that Pym isn't going to be in Avengers 2? I mean, they could do something like have him be an AI specialist who helped Tony concieve Jarvis, and could be the one who somehow corrupted the programming when assisting in the creation of Ultron. They don't even have to go into Pym's backstory... they could just have Tony ask Pym (who would be a random scientist to the uninformed, especially if they just call him Hank) to update the software to be more compatible with the Ultron body and then have something go wrong - and that's it for the character in the film. Then they could expand on the character (and the rammifications of his mistake) in the Ant-Man movie.

With Ant-Man in the works, why wouldn't they include him in the story? It strikes me as a bit odd. Like you said, just a reference would go a long way.

It makes sense but I don't know if the Ant-Man is going to be Pym, Lang, O' Grady or a combination between all of them

Second best news at the Con, closely behind Worlds Finest. The lack of Pym doesn't really bother me, especially since they established sentient AI tech in IM3 and this felt like a more natural progression in the MCU. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if they snuck Pym in there and Whedon threw all of us a curveball.

So... Has anyone cited that Whedon quote? Has it been confirmed via Twitter or anything? I noticed that the article it's originally stated on is gone. Not that I doubt it's true, but I don't think it's been cited anywhere reliable.

What little rumors are out there point to Ant-Man being Pym and the movie about him developing Pym Particles and his helmet.

From ComicBookMovie.com:

Well, because there was a book called 'Age of Ultron' quite recently, a lot of people have assumed that is what we're doing, but that is not the case. We're doing our own version of the origin story for Ultron. In the origin story, there was Hank Pym, so a lot of people assumed that he will be in the mix. He's not. We're basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the wayside.

I wonder how they're going to handle Vision if they're totally reworking Ultron's origin.

For that matter, there was some talk about the SHIELD series featuring the Runaways, and that seems more likely since they'll also probably change Victor Mancha's origin. Or even not tie him to Ultron at all (which would be lame).

Well probably 6 years ago, after Scott Pilgrim came out, Wright kept saying he wanted Ant-Man to be a secret agent with super powers. Which on paper would sound closer to Scott Lang, Agent of SHIELD. However, I think that has changed since things he's more recently said on Twitter regarding the movie (and, for what little it's worth, the recently-ish updated IMDB page) all point towards Pym.
