I have one more corner to finish on the stern trim and cut the stern exhaust plate. The stern trim at deck level will be trimmed back when the side deck bumpers are mounted. The Orca letters and gas air vent won't be mounted till the boat is almost done.
The first of 14 lights is now working. The stern navigation light is in its place.

Happy Easter everyone.

I'm not sure if I'm going to paint the Warlock Blue on the transom. The pictures I've been looking at don't show the Blue except for one pic that looks looking be well into the filming. To give you all an example of painting as I build, when I taped off the stern to paint the water line boot, the tape took some paint off as I removed the tape. I like the look.

I think this is the first time I've ever built a model Filmzy and painted as I build hoping things get nicked up. If that makes sense.
wow your first ever model. you picked a doozy to start with. you will find as you paint the scruffier the better. the ORCA is a beat up old thing. Paint loves texture to cling to. Your doing a great job. keep it up.

Noooooooooo, It's not my first model. I've built Plastic models, R/C Planes, R/C Cars, and R/C Boats. The last R/C Boat I built was back in 1985, an Aircraft Carrier. USS America CV66. 5 1/2 feet long 1/192 scale. Thank you Zee, It might be taking a long time to build, but it will bring years of enjoyment.

As flimzy said: "Paint loves texture to cling to"...no need to be worry about the tape removing some of the paint since it's an old boat(y)(y)

Starting the forward cabin details. The door is cut, the raised deck (where the bed, dresser, toilet, kitchenette/workbench will be set on) is done. Forward Cabin walls are next. Then I can move on to the v-birth.
The bed on a real Novi42 opens up and transforms into a bench seat/table. Not sure if I'm going to model it to transform. It would be neat to make some Warlock blue seat cushions for that added feature of what Orca used to be.
