X-Men: Apocalypse

Re: X-Men: Days of Future Past

Whoa. If Marvel Studios can do Thanos, then I suppose Fox can do Apocalypse. I wonder how they'll set him up, if the title is indeed an indication of the villain? I just hope it's done right. Galactus was a mess...

Well they could put a giant guy in a suit, i mean some versions of Apocalypse haven't been super massive. You could get someone the size of the guy who was Nemesis in resident evil and get away with it by adding height to the boots. That would probably get him up to 8'.

Because of the continuity issues of the X-movie universe (even if Days of Future Past is suppose to retcon most of them), I would love to see the Age of Apocalypse timeline adapted for this somehow, someway.

My only reservation is that I don't want to see a totally CGI movie. I agree with the guy in a suit if they could do it correctly. IMHO that is why Loki has become so popular is because he is done so well and not some CGI no personality sloth.

I'm not sure who you could get to play apocalypse in meat space.

Not gonna spoil anything here but I hope to dear god that the supposed DOFP ECS leak is fake, sounds like an awful idea for Apocalypse.

Pretty crazy how they announce Apocalypse and supposed dofp credits stuff 6 entire months before the movie's actual release! Idk, I'll get excited for this after I watch dofp in theaters LOL.

Yes, Bryan Singer Will Direct X-Men: Apocalypse -- Vulture

"Apocalypse will be a direct sequel set up in Days of Future Past's closing moments, the new film is intended to focus strictly on the younger McAvoy-Fassbender cast. The movie suggests that though First Class was the franchise's lowest earner when it bowed in 2011, Fox has enough confidence that the star-packed Days of Future Past will give the new cast enough momentum to stand on its own."

I wouldn't expect that they'll keep strictly with the comic's design. And "apocalypse" could simply mean "they fail to prevent what happens in DOFP and everything goes to hell."

Whoa, no. Business wise that doesn't make a lick of sense. What about Wolverine? Shouldn't he be the main attraction to this project since he's the star of the franchise and the one audiences love? I mean, if you guys couldn't get the message that "First Class" presented you with a new cast of characters that could stand on their own, how much real faith do you actually have?

Jackman's contract is up, he may prove too expensive to feature in the next film even if he's willing to do it for the right paycheck. And unless it's future Wolverine with the past X-Men it fubars the timeline again. Using the younger cast is probably cheaper overall too.

Frankly, it's a bigger show of faith to NOT use Wolverine. Gods forbid they make one X-Men film that doesn't feature him at all.

Honestly, I'm glad his contract is almost up.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's wonderful as Wolverine. Jackman really did a fantastic job. However, the studios have been shoving Wolverine down our collective throats for the past 13 years, and there's a little thing called oversaturation.

In the studio's defense, so has Marvel. At one point he was in three X-Men team books, Avengers, and two solo titles just in the 616 universe. Then there was "Wolverine and the X-Men" cartoon where he was for some reason the leader of the team.
