such a great thread! thank you to everyone who has contributed!
Although you did a good job, I got some suggestions and references as I have researched this prop and seen the original prop countless times in person.EDIT: Looks like other people have made this already, but oh well.
Hey Everyone. I just wanted to say thanks for the awesome resources found on this site.
Im making a few books for my wife this Christmas and wanted to contribute a more screen accurate "Mudbloods and How to Spot Them" book cover. Its still not totally accurate, but I triedI remade this in Illustrator and and didn't apply any weather effects to it yet because I wanted to add those by hand and not digitally.
I hope people will find this useful! Ive attached a jpg for preview and hopefully this dropbox link works:

Although you did a good job, I got some suggestions and references as I have researched this prop and seen the original prop countless times in person.
The original prop used these fonts:
-Prison AOE (https://www.dropbox.com/s/kicpi8l7eym4y28/PrisonAOE.ttf?dl=0)
-PiS LIETZ Lindham (https://www.dropbox.com/s/qaz9a6pp1sd2937/PiSLIETZLindham.otf?dl=0)
-Type No. 2 WF (https://www.dropbox.com/s/ydk907thtdci9xv/TypeNo2.otf?dl=0)
-P22 Koch Signs Four (https://www.dropbox.com/s/7zdrdlc118yvs50/P22 Koch Signs Four.ttf?dl=0)
As for the actual references:

As you can see there are some details from the prop that you haven't included, like a more detailed kneeling wizard etc. The colours are a bit off as well. There wasn't actually any gold used on that design.
As for distressing. Let me tell you how it was done on an original. All the distressing that you see on the flat reference for the cover spread was actually printed like it is there. So all the subtle texturing (scanned grain texture) and screenprint texture that is in the main fragment of the cover (which is actually taken from an old WW2 propaganda poster by the way) was there on the cover and the printed prop. After printing the cover they just distressed it lightly with sandpaper etc for a better effect.
New Chocolate Frog card comes January 26! As a special treat, Bertie Bott of Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans fame is featured on a Chocolate Frog wizard card. For a limited time, a Bertie Bott sticker on the Chocolate Frog box lets you know you’re getting the new card. After a few weeks, the sticker disappears and Bertie Bott’s card is mixed into the general inventory. This is just a small sample of the magic in store during A Celebration of Harry Potter, which runs from January 26 – 28.
Thanks for the pictures and info.
I think that Bertie Bott must really not like us in the wizarding world, because he created Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans.:lol
That’s awesomeI’m such a fan of the idea of the every flavor beans. Does anyone plan on visiting the park and picking up any of the designated frogs? Perhaps willing to send a care package if I cover the costs?
