G'day folks,

This is a truly magnificient weapon. I am really surprised no-one has attempted to make one. Why is this? Lack of reference material? I did read somewhere the hero is based on a Russian assualt rifle. What's the scoop?

Matt? Who has the originals and why don't you? LOL

Anyone got any good pics...all angles?

I thought I heard there was a 5th element making of book....does that contain pics?

from what I can remember it was about 4 seperate props- the closed prop, the prop which opened up, the prop which fired and the net / smoke one.

I think no-ones attempted it cos it would take aaaaaaaagggggggggeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss:cry
Oh, I have The Art Of... book which isnt much help..........I can remember, I'm sure, a scene in poss a dvd of the prop master showing us the guns that made up the prop on film?

a fellow member here has the molds to the open and closed guns

thats why i gave up on my scratch build effort.

matt has a screen casting i think.

the opening gun was cgi according to the special edition dvd commentry

the book is a waste of time and money, i unloaded mine as it offered me no help.

Just slightly o/t...I'm going to start looking for that book in local thrift shops, and some of them have a t-o-n of books. Could you tell me what size the book is, and if it's hardback or paperback? That sure would save some time in searching if I can look in the properly-sized sections... :)

I've received mine recently (I've said it before, and I'll say it again; for $6!), and it's paperback. I'm not sure of measurements, since I'm not home, but it's square, and 240 pages. Quite thick and heavy.

As for the book containing any good images of the ZF-1, not that I know of. I couldn't find any. :angry

The ZF-1 prop was on a History Channel show called "Greatest Movie Gadgets"... got some nice detail shots.

i think it was agreed at the time of first posting this was not a screen accurate piece. e.g. possibly a fan made or something similar

If not mistaken wasn't it also show on one of the Future Weapons shows as an intro to some new modular weapon system?

What does that red button do?

That's the first question anyone using it should ask :lol At least, if you were a killer. A real dyed in the wool killer. Cold-blooded. Clean. Methodical. Thorough. A killer, when he picked up the ZF1, would've immediately asked about the little red button on the bottom of the gun.

I dont know how much I can tell......but there will be one made later this year! Cast from the original molds.

Here is the closed version, directly out of the original mold.

Been hearing that song for almost ten years now. Will believe it when I see it. Still, it's an open one that I'm interested in!!!
