Zeiram & Zeiram 2 - What do we Know?

I have lately gotten Zeiram fever, and I'd like to start a research thread for the props.

Here's what I'll post:

Reference material (DVD caps or photos of the original props)

Guesses & leads for more research

I just cracked my collection out of storage and took a bunch of new pics. So here goes...

Screen Used

Iria Save Gun from Zeiram. Made from hard rubber and metal.

Hero grenade from Zeiram. Used in the scene near the end when Iria blows Zeiram up

Stunt foam communicator from Zeiram

Fujikaro's hero shotgun from Zeiram 2, still wired for pyros

Fujikaro's hero zone gun, also wired for pyros

Bounty hunter gun from Zeiram 2

Battle Droid head from the opening of Zeiram 2.

Replicas

Fewture models cast a series of screen props from both movies and released them as kits in the early nineties. Aquired mostly from Ebay over the years and built up by me.

Iria's handgun from Zeiram

Two versions of Iria's handgun from Zeiram 2. The breaking one is the Fewture release. I don't know the origin of the other one, I got it from The Monster Company in the UK, and seems to be cast from the live fire version.

Iria's Zeiram 2 machine gun. A fantastic kit.

Iria Communicator used in both movies

Kamalite Statue & data disk. The statue is cast in translucent green resin

Skull-Kwan temple statue

Iria's lighter. I've never managed to place this in either movie.

Fewture also did a kit of the save-gun and grenade, packaged together.

Iria's Zeiram 2 goggles, by Oblong Box

Oblong Box also did a cast of the Zeiram unit (the weird little face in Zeiram's head. Never managed to find one at a reasonable price. There was also a kit of Iria's bug-food, but I've never found one for sale.

Also in the collection:

Full sized, fan-made fibreglass mask of Zeiram from the second movie. I've been told only five of these were made.

Love that collection Simon

I have the headset (which was generously given to me by Simon) and the lighter as well (still need to finish them).

I also have an original Fewture kit of the Iria gun simon posted (with the linnen covered grip) and have molds for the sparkgun which Simon allowed me to make.

I have a finished casting of Iria's revolver from Zeiram 2 that came from Amamiya's table at the 1994 Chi-Con in Japan. I had Yuko Moriyama sign the backstrap in gold ink at a SDCC in 1996.

Oh and I have a screenused "White Head" from Z2. Fiberglass shell with foam rubber and tons of cables coming out of the back.

None of the Fewture stuff is still made, but originals and recasts still occasionally surface on Ebay.

Iria's 'hero' pistol from Zeiram 2.

Note the physical details that suggest this particular gun is built around a functional revolver of some kind. Perhaps a plug fire cap gun.

Most other shots of this pistol show a cruder, fake ejector rod.

Finally managed to pick up the Japanese DVDs, which are loaded with extras

Amemiya was obviously an early Marco Enterprises customer, along with the Deckard blaster in the first movie, one of the bounty hunters in Zeiram 2 was toting this little number:

Based on Birdie's picture of what appears to be a firing 'hero' revolver from Zeiram 2, and the close-up from the DVD (posted by me), I am tentatively ID-ing the possibly-firing 'hero' as a Smith & Wesson M36 revolver with a 2-inch barrel. That seems to match-up pretty well with Birdie's picture of the hero.
