My new Landron Artifacts "Aztec" stand (more of a silvery greenish tint) for the Staff of Ra Medallion (RM Belloq version) has arrived. Here it is sitting next to the RM Imam one that is on the "Egyptian" stand (more of a yellow gold tint):

Are they back in stock on Landron’s site or did you pick them up somewhere else?

It sounded like he was still playing catch up with waiting lists (having had several major life events last year). I put my order in originally almost a year ago and got notice it was "ready" but I already had two by then from eBay purchases (which surprised him that I found not one, but two that way) and asked if I could switch to the Aztec one so he moved the order up to someone else waiting for one and told me he'd let me know when an Aztec one was available. That was 2-3 weeks later, I think (Perhaps with all the stay at home orders, he has some time to catch up finally, but that's just a guess). If you want one, you pretty much just ask to get on the list. Things seem to be moving along faster now so it might not be too long now. Last year just sounded like a bad year to order from him with things going on in his life.

So after stealing the box idea from Mechanized, this is where I am right now.

I ended up wanting a little bit bigger of a box so I found a different old one on Etsy. Since there isn't a whole lot to do these days, I've gone through basically every page of the Indy related paper props and made what I liked (if anybody wants to re-up anything that's gone though I'd be happy to waste some more time doing more, haha).

I also decided that while I like my Magnoli Ravenwood diary, I think it looks to thick and not quite the right proportions of the one in Raiders. So I got some old composition books and ordered some book cloth and made my own. This is my first attempt, I have enough stuff to make a few more so I'm starting another with what I learned from this one and doing some extra reading on bookmaking.

Here's the full display as it currently stands. I'm not sure I like the layout of my top shelf, but I'm going to sit with it like this for a bit and see if I can figure out some other way to organize it. I still want to get some books and then I think I'll have the box sitting on top of those.

My first attempt at the base of Idolo, I did not get to the color and texture of the stone...

Looks good. One thing I did on mine was to lightly spray that stone texture spray paint they sell all over it, then sponged on various different shades of grey to give it a mottled look. Then did some washes of brown and black, then took an old brush, dipped it in paint, and used the bristles to fling on little speckles all over.

What do you mean by washes...???

What material is your base made of..???

Take black paint and brown paint, each watered down a bit, the using a brush, wash the piece in it... paint over the entire piece with the watered down paint. Then quickly - before it has time to dry - use a rag to wipe the paint wash off. It will wipe off but allow the dark color to stay in the recessed areas.

What Moviefreak said. My stone bases are just made of styrofoam. I covered them with spackle, then let it dry a bit so it wouldn't be sticky but was still shapable, then using a wadded up plastic grocery bag, patted it down all over to smooth it out but still leave it kind of lumpy like regular stone. Then I did what I said above.

Here are some closeups of the stone:

Nice work on your Ravenwood diary, LTsmash1200 (y)

Takes me back to when I made mine. Fun build for anyone thinking about doing their own.

Thanks! This one was made with some stuff I got from Walmart and some bookcloth I ordered. I've been reading about book binding though since I started it, and it doesn't seem to be TOO hard. Plus, I have tons of time now...so I've ordered some other supplies and I'm going to make one from scratch. If it works out, I may consider attempting to make the manuscript book from Last Crusade if I can find good copies of the pages from that.

Only started collecting around Christmas but still have a few cool pieces.

Big gaps that I'm still trying to fill include the Sankara Stones and Urn of Nerhache.

Off to a nice start!

I'd also like to find a nice urn and a glowing Sankara Stone. I wish I could afford/have space for the RestauraJones ones.

ShadowX81 - where did you find your antidote vile?
Here's the same etsy store I bought it from.
Though at the time he was selling it without the champagne glass.

Check out the store in the link I just posted. He has a pretty nice set of glowing stones for $160 that I am considering picking up.

Granted they aren't RestauraJones, but they could be a cool way to get them in your collection.

I've got three glowing Sankara stones semi-opaque I used to display in my bookcase display that I wasn't sure what to do with after I upgraded to the Mimic ones I found as part of a used set on eBay awhile back. For now, they've been moved to my China Cabinet upstairs with my Blade Runner glasses and what not. I thought I was going to sell my old urn to someone at one point, but when they saw it next to a picture of the translucent version I replaced it with, they no longer wanted it. So, what's worse, having no urn and stones or having ones you don't think are good enough? I just put them in my china cabinet upstairs as a secondary display. Selling is a hassle.

... (new post was added while typing) ...

Yes, the ones in that link in the message above on Etsy are the same stones I have moved upstairs. That's definitely the seller for my own antidote (ended up getting a hexagonal champagne glass later, but then I discovered there's actually a round stem version in the same scene when he rotates the table too). They're nice, but the MIMIC and RestauraJones ones look better, IMO (hence my upgrade when a set showed up on eBay).

I ended up getting a Landron non-lit Stone as well with the package that included the Mimic set. It looks pretty good compared to the scene where Harrison Ford lifts the stone up onto the remains of the bridge and it's daytime and opaque.

Note I'm not saying I plan on selling any of these necessarily (I haven't decided what to do with the extra urn and stones for certain yet), just offering comparisons as I think I perhaps jumped into buying a set too soon after seeing them on Etsy (not that the other ones were available right away, but things do turn up on eBay from time to time if you're patient. I never thought I'd see a Mimic set for sale; I doubt they're made anymore either. The Restaurajones ones are quite nice from what I've seen. I like the lighting pattern better than the Mimic set I have (more screen accurate in the pattern), but they're not remote controlled and are a greener shade (I prefer the orange/yellow color better so it's a tossup if you could have your choice). The Fanbilt ones are a nice compromise between opaque (like the Harrison Ford daylight scene at the bridge) and the glowing ones as they kind of do both reasonably well, but aren't quite as accurate as the best separate made ones, IMO so the type of display you're looking for matters. I wanted a light up display I could activate remotely from my home theater (to go with my other remote activated lighting displays like the Conan Heart of Ahriman diamond and Harry Potter Crystal Ball, for example).

These show the difference between the two sets in appearance:

Seems like I'm not the only one that wants a Nurhachi Urn and new set of stones.

I bought my Sankara stones from Fanbilt too a few years ago. They still work. I did have to send them back initially and have him remake me a new set. Seems like he's gotten better at making them since then. Still want to upgrade them at some point.

Yeah, I've seen his shop. I've had his voodoo doll in my watchlist for a while. I'm not a fan of the look of those stones. Since ToD isn't my favorite... I'm not THAT pressed to pick anything up from it unless something I REALLY like comes along at a good price-like one of Sarednab's urns. I really don't need a whole set of stones either, one would be fine. Though, like I said, if I had the space I'd jump on a RestauraJones set.
