Your Indiana Jones Displays - Lets see 'em

Great collections everyone!

Yeah, TBH im not a super massive fan of those stones either. While they do seem to be able to capture both the "opaque" and "lit" versions fairly well; something is really off about those lines. They seem too shallow and on the surface. I wish that they had more of a deep groove to them.

If I were to get any stones with price being no object than MIMIC's stones would be my top choice (I love that beautiful orange glow); but since those seem to be long sold out my next choice would be the Propland2000 stones. Once the world gets back to normal and he opens up his etsy shop again I intend to pick up a set.

Since I had to buy half a yard of the book cloth, I had plenty left to make more diaries. My first two versions were made with composition notebooks from Walmart that I sewed together and made new covers for. They look pretty decent but I started watching videos on bookbinding while I was working on the second one and thought it didn't seem like it would be too hard to make one from scratch. So after ordering a few different sizes of paper from Amazon and some good waxed thread I just finished this one. Originally I ordered a pack of B5 and a pack of A5 paper from Amazon. The B5 turned out to be too thin and there weren't many other options on Amazon for that that could be delivered any time soon. The A5 I think is too small, but I did make a test notebook out of it for my wife. I ended up ordering some 7 x 10 executive size paper which seems about perfect. I know I could have just cut down regular letter size paper, but I haven't had luck getting a good clean cut through a stack of paper with xacto or razor blades and you can't really just go get a book guillotined right now...

Exec Print at 8x10.png

In case anybody else wants to try and needs this, here's the lined paper file I made. It may or may not work for you. My printer didn't have an option for executive borderless, but did for 8 x 10. So I made this so when you select 8 x 10 borderless, it prints centered correctly on a 7 x 10 sheet.

I didn't weather all the pages because I didn't want them to get too wrinkled/shrink and it's always just going to just be displayed closed. So I just aged the edges of the paper with a tea bag, then sanded the cover/corners, sprayed it with instant espresso, and used a brush to sprinkle and pat in cinnamon and fuller's earth.

Quick Indy prop rant. Just in case any of you saw the Nurhachi Urn on eBay by coolmodels, and then thought "I need one of those", and then added it to your cart... Don't! Run Away!

1. She is a known recaster (not known by me until a few minutes ago). I tried to see if anyone else on here knew who she was... Should have utilized the search bar here before I got it.

2. The cast is complete crap. Only worthy of displaying in my trash can. (That's me being nice about it)

Lesson learned, eBay notified, rant over.

Who is coolmodels? I've never seen an urn by them on eBay. I see two on there now. One is the Sarednab unpainted one and the other is some solid green one (reminds me of Play-Doh or clay or something) that I've never seen anyone else do. What was it a recast of?
