Your Favorite "YES!!" Moments (TV/Movies)

Just watched Apollo 13 the other night and found a good 'Yes' moment, after the 4 minute radio silence, "Hello, Houston. This is Odyssey. It's good to see you again. " and mission control erupts into cheers.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes the atmosphere drop of the Galactica from the RIS BSG (in fact, many fans have dubbed it the "Adama Maneuver").

I also second the Hit-girl POV from Kick-Ass.

But here are some that I think apply.

1. Michonne stabbing the Governor in the eye with a piece of glass during their fight, The Walking Dead, Episode: "When the Dead Coming Knocking"
2. When Ash says "groovy" after modifying the chainsaw to fit on his stump and cutting off the barrel of his shotgun.
3. Lee's Last Stand/Armed With Death, The Walking Dead video game (start at 2:48). - I know this is a video game, but still counts as a "Yes!" moment.
4. Creasy's "I wish you had more time!" line in Man on Fire, from this scene.
5. Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars - When the Moya Crew, after the birth of John and Aeryn's kid, come charging out, blasting Scarrans in slow-mo (seriously, awesomeness in slow-mo!)

That's about it for now.

"My friends, you bow to no one."

I wish I had the same reaction to that scene, but the whole time I kept thinking to myself "What's wrong with showing a bit of respect? Wasn't everyone a player in this? I didn't see Frodo stab the Witch King ghost.".

Btw, Éowyn killing the Witch King was my big "YES!!" moment from the entire series.

Thought of another one.

When Spartacus finally leads the slave revolt at the end of the first season of Spartacus.

"Real Steel" - There's plenty of those moments. The best one is in the final round, when Atom just starts unleashing on Zeus. I was lucky enough to see it opening night, and corny as the movie was, everyone bought into it and were cheering throughout the final round.

The score by Elfman is fantastic by the way. Look up "The Final Round" and give it a listen. I've never heard Elfman sound like this.

OMG, I LOVE that movie so much!

8 Mile, where the idiot friend tucks a six shooter into his pants...and it goes off. Having watched too many movies where that doesn't happen, it was great to finally see it.

"My friends, you bow to no one."

Also, the skiff/execution/Sarlacc scene in ROTJ. Luke steps off of the plank, and turns to grab it, springing himself back up into a triple gainer. Simultaneously, R2 shoots Luke's saber through the air for him to catch, and ignite, just as he lands back in the skiff. The combination of the score, the aggressive sound of the ignition, and the green "blade" (up to that point, we had only seen Kenobi and Vader's blue and red sabers) still makes me smile, to this day.

Three words: Avengers. "Puny god." :lol

Anytime in 24 where Jack Bauer takes out a terrorist by snapping the terrorist's neck.

The opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

The opening scene of Star Wars.

The opening musical score of Star Trek: First Contact.

1975 movie The Wilby Conspiracy, with Sidney Poitier, Michael Caine, and Nicol Williamson. Nicol was one of the most truly reprehensible film villains ever, as Major Horn of the Afrikaaner/Apartheid secret police. At the end, Michael Caine just pulls a gun and puts one right between the eyes.

Tom Cruise War of the Worlds, when he leaves the grenades inside the walker, and BOOM, down it goes.

Rob Roy, when Archibald Cunningham seemingly has Rob, and Rob grabs the Rapier Blade, and roaring, nearly cuts him in half with his Claymore.

Okay...go with me on this. Not a personal 'yes!' moment but still a fave of mine.

I'm in the theater in the mall watching EDDIE AND THE CRUISERS II. There's maybe 20 other people, including a group of 4 or 5 girls on the other side of the auditorium.

All thru the movie, Eddie is trying to keep people from finding out he's the famous Eddie Wilson who disappeared 20 years earlier until the final concert when he introduces the band and finally reveals his true identity.

Those girls were apparently really into the drama and all did the "YES!" thing, along with a few whoops of joy and caused the rest of us to laugh along with them.

For my own personal favorite - SUPERMAN II and Superman flying up outside the Daily Planet and challenging Zod to step outside.

One that makes an 'OK' series memorable for me was in the ABC show FlashForward.

The 'good guy' FBI team have been having problems & after a night of getting everything out on the table & drinking, They get ambushed in their ride outside the hotel bar.

After several moments of solid gunfire & general FUBAR-ness, The team comes out from around the car & columns, guns-a-blazing while the Stones version of 'Like a Rolling Stone' plays.

Not very realistic, but DANG it pumped me up.

---found the ending of it---:thumbsup
